Dug into the plastic sack that came in the box and noted a couple of things

1: The RedCat instruction manual is for nitro cars. The engine manual is correct

2: There is a jumper plug that I think plugs into the RX

3: It came with a HSP micro fail safe

4: The parts sheet shows an 054700 Polished Exhaust Pipe (AL) in the Upgradable Optional list.

Correcting #1 was easy, I downloaded and printed the DR manual from RedCat, even though it's for 2WD. #2 HELP! #3 I looked at other micro kill switch instructions on Tower Hobbies site, figure this should set up the same.

#4 Anyone have any info about this?

Figured out #2 - Binding. Changing to the Traxxas TQi system, not needed.

Info on #4 would be nice, it appears to be a polished tuned pipe.

The part number is incorrect. It is 54086.

It is not a very good pipe. They are aluminum and melt after a few runs. The rear Dom for the Baja fits with a little modding. It is a great pipe.

Thanks RCDAD for the info on the pipes. One of my "bucket list" items.

When did fail safes start getting packaged with the cars? From what I found so far it monitors for low voltage and signal interruption, then runs the throttle/brake servo to a preset braking value. Prices I've found so far run around $19 and change. Don't know if I'll use it, the TQi system monitors the same things and returns the servo's to netural.

Oh yeah, forgot to explain. Throw that in the trash. It is just a fail safe. It can not kill power to the engine. It only applies the brakes and or steers to one direction. This however becomes useless if the servo or linkage gets stuck.

Yeah, the SuperBee isn't compatible with the TQi, or any Traxxas systems.

Not compatible w/ any Kill Switch

HPI 2.4ghz 2-ch

KoPropo Esprit 3

Traxxas 2.4ghz -all models

Tactic 2ch 2.4ghz

Still have the Great Planes kill switch, micro servo, wire and Z bend pliers. And a 3 channel TX/RX with failsafe built in. So we'll see what we see. If I set up correctly, if the failsafe activates, so will the kill switch when the servo goes to neutral. Or I can manually activate the kill switch if the throttle or steering goes south. Plus I monitor the RX voltage on the TX display, when it gets below 4.8V, it'll be time to pit.

And get the highest rated Mah RX pack available.

I'll let you all know how it works out. Getting some other projects finished so I have some room on my bench for this monster! :) Showed the DuneRunner off to some friends at the LHS, one who just got a Baja 5b. They were VERY IMPRESSED!

I forgot to mention, SIZE MATTERS! And with a price lower then a Revo... :D I think I have the only Dune Runner around here right now. I don't think that will last very long. ;)

Nice! Redcat needs all the support they can get!

Other project completed (one Screaming Hot Slash 4X4 SSC LCG short course truck), went thru the servo HELL with the Dune Runner, tomorrow the Dune Runner gets fired up. Ran out of daylight today because of other things I needed to do to keep the other half happy.

Thanks to RCDAD, Deluge and everyone else who posted so much helpful information, and answered questions. You're the BEST! :D
