I took my TT out for its first run yesterday. Everything went well and then it started pouring down raining. I kept driving it for a bit ( Ok, a while ). This morning i went out to play with it some more and my throttle servo would not work. I took out the failsafe, still didnt work. I then connected it to a diffrent channel and nothing. I figured the servo must have gotten wet so i pulled it apart and dried it up ( was a little damp inside). It then worked but was glitching some. If i floored the servo and let off it would glitch back to throttle then back to a nuetral position. I figured it was good enough and put the truck back together. Before i cranked it, i tested everything and the throttle servo was acting strange. It wouldnt go to the left and twice it turned itself all the way to the right. After a few minutes it quit and i gave it a try. the steering was working flawless and the throttle started out ok. Then the throttle would majorily glitch ( from brake to full throttle) while i had it punched. then before i know it i had a runaway truck.

My question is: Could a faulty throttle servo effect the other servos? Could this be a combination problem between the recievers and servos? Could a faulty failsafe be in the mix at all? I would love to junk these cheesy electrics but am on a budget for the time being.

If your reciever was damaged your steering servo would act the same, it sounds like its just your throttle servo if you have another rc car try to plug the servo into the other car and see if it glitchs. For a decent servo the hitec 645mg is right between 30-40 bucks.

I took the steering servo out of my VXL and that cured the majority of the problem. It is still glitching a bit but nothing serious. Also it seems the traxxas servo is alot faster than the redcat one. I will stop by the LHS Monday and pick me up a hitec one, i am wandering how long this plastic geared servo will last?

turf the stock throttle servo. they die no matter what weather you run in. the steering servo is a gws and not too bad. slow but works. the throttle servo is the lower end of the tower pros. my first redcat throttle servo died within 3 minutes of new, second wasn't much longer. by third redcat I never even started the rc before tossing the thing in the bin and replacing with a real servo. decent servos and a kill switch are the best investment you can make

As pipe said the stock servos will go bad fast and the radio don't like any water in the receiver rob64n fried one when water got in the receiver. the hitech 645mg is a good plus faster servo be ready to replace the radio when you can

My servos did the same if it wasnt for this forum i would have bought another oem servo that would last 10 mins. Decent servos =no problems.
