I'm sure stock is fine and I know u want some give but just trying to find a brand like rpm that makes plastic parts/really just arms/bumpers that will still bend and give a little but also just a little higher quality and a little stronger.

Thinking about building 5t from scratch since I just wanna buy a roller to males it brush less.figure it'd be cheaper then buying a roller for 1000 and then spend 500 on upgraded that I can do right and better the first time.wanna get metal bulkheads and upgrade driveshafts and center diff/servo mount/chassis braces.u think buying a rovan roller for 600 and upgrading all that would be smarter?would cost me 1100 and would be good to go all around.or buy a 5t and upgrade with the 500 or just build from scratch and put it at around 1100/1200 and be 100% bulletproof?is the internal of diffs and chassis on rovan really any worse then losi?that would be about all that would be left of it if I buy a rovan and upgrade.

Since you haven't bought a truck yet, i don't as much about LT305 vs losi 5ive parts. Rovan is typically cheaper quality. I recently just bought a used Losi truck, disassembled and rebuilt the whole thing. It is built really good. I was gonna put a castle XL2 setup in, but the truck is so heavy it will eventually blow that up.

If you really want brushless the consensus around here is to use the MGM ESC $600 and Lehner 3080 motor $800, which will end up costing you around $1400 (ESC + motor) plus the truck cost.

If I were you id get Losi roller and start with that until you start breaking stuff and then upgrade as needed. The Losi is made really strong from the factory.

Pretty sure I can use a bunch of motors and have good outcome that cost 1/4 of a lehner.pretty sure I can get a neu 2225 for 550$. I have read basically mgm is the route and xl2 is hit and miss.thought about giving alien a try.they have 24s 400 or 500amp escs and a 350a 15s for under 300$ I believe.a lot of ebike and boat guys say there real good.mgm has a 15s ESC that is like 500$ or so but is only 150@ /200 max 5 sec.,you think running a 500kv on 14s that would be sufficient?thinking the higher voltage and lower kV should be a pretty low amp draw seeing how a castle xl2 is handling a 780 on 8s and must draw way more amps.just don't wanna spend 800 on the 400@ mgm,500$ is a little better.

I never put brushless into my 5ive, I just put a cheap Rovan 30.5 gas motor in for now and I like the truck been fun so far, it's very heavy no matter what. I may put brushless in later on down the road, just don't have another $1k+ laying around for the brushless setup.

You will need someone else to chime in who have tested out a lot of stuff to tell you about using multiple motors and what motor kv to go with. I have not researched it that far.

I like the durability of the stock plastic Losi parts. I beat my 5ive like it owes me money and I haven't broken a plastic part yet. My A-arms are getting the cartwheel sag, no biggie. I sky mine about 7 feet in the air tank after tank and I've almost killed the stock body. As far as buying a Losi or Rovan, I've found it is cheaper to get the real thing. If you buy a Rovan roller and "upgrade" it to a Losi, why not spend a few more bucks and be done with the upgrade? The Losi parts are extremely durable, tried and true.
