GoPro mounting

I'll just mess around and try to come up with some sort of bracket to bring it closer to the front windshield, I'll then cut out a circle in the windshield for it to peer through. :D

I mounted on the roof plate before but it always broke the mount in a rollover. I now mount to the front top plate. In the event of rollover it only move the camera on its mounts ( I use 3) so all I have to do is reposition it.

Thank you for showing me this! That looks like a great spot for it!!

I did drill holes in the waterproof casing. I can get a brand new waterproof case on ebay if I end up needing one later.

I drilled holes in it especially around the microphone becuase it sounds so crappy completly sealed up. It sound a lot better with holes. I could put more holes in it to let even more sound in but ehhh......If you put holes in yours make them in a spot that wont let dust and dirt get over the lens. I did mine mostly on the back, croners, and sides.

That's a good idea! I have yet to even use mine so when I do I'll see what your talking about! I also have an Epic Sport video camera I use on my quad and yeah I hear more wind blowing & howling than anything!!

I end up putting it on iMovie and turn the camera sound off and add music to the video! The sound on those are really only good if it's recording while sitting still.

I might have to try your idea! Probably (more than likely) I won't get wind howling on the GoPro! Well, it will be under the shell anyway!

Thanks HH!

We found that to get better sound without drilling holes. They say to remove the gasket around the back panel. It works great, we have tried it.

Might try to do the gasket removal first. No need to trash a good case if you don't have to. If you watch this video, My car is the Blue & orange one, The sound from my camera is Muffled, cause I left the gasket in. The white car has the gasket out & the sound is much better.

Cool about taking the gasket out as well. Ill try that next time. I still like the holes as well. I cant wait to hear it w/holes AND no gasket.

I only use my case as crash protection for the camera. I don't drive in wetness but the holes could be taped or puttied over if drilled on flat spots. If you take the gasket out or drill holes its not water proof any more either, but yes you can put the seal back in later. I don't get any wind noise Im aware of but I didnt put holes in the front, most are in back.

Cases are affordable so I figured I have 2

1) modified for dry driving

2) stock IF i decide to drive wet

They are both really good solutions!

I just have been throwing money around lately like "I'm made of it or something!" I need to find some cheaper solutions to maintain a happy household! lol :D

GoPro Mount!OK, I just finished making my mount for our GoPro video camera!I used some carbon steel that I had laying around the workshop, aluminum would have been better, I just didn't have any at the time! ~ Hey Rob!!! HaHaI drilled some holes, splashed some "blue streak" paint on it (like the body) and mounted it to the shock tower & voila, there you have it!I then cut out a square section in the front windshield added some PVC tubing around the edges, for bumpers and looks, I guess. I don't need to remove the body to start/stop it also. The good thing about the placement of this is if something were to happen it would just get pushed inside and get protected by the body.I hope you all like it! :)Oh yeah, I added the Carnage sticker to the hood! That wouldn't be a bad name for my truck, huh?Sorry about the size of the pics, I wish I knew how to put bigger ones on here!
