Just finished a set of parts for my redcats and others. I made 10 sets of modified shock towers (only need 5 sets but with my driving I thought it only smart to make a few spare) and 10 filter sets for all of my 1/5 scale cars. I made it all from T6 so hope that it's going to be strong enough. Have a funny feeling that I may have overdone the multiple adjustment holes and weakens the top of the tower. Don't need all that adjustment positions. Made the towers similar to those that I have seen on here before to fit the new body. So please with the finish and fit. Will polish up and post some more photos

Not sure of the impact on the drive yet as I only got the parts yesterday. The more upright shocks should give the suspension a more consistent feel. The shock tower was not developed for the ride, more the ability to fit the new body in it. Will fit front and rear to my MT, TT and my monster DR and post some more pics. The filter is similar to the threshold (with some of my mods) which I can't say enough good things about. Makes the car breath fantasticly

The filters can be blown out with an airline but to be honest I will just be tossing them away. I bought 15 of them (1 for each car and some spares) for $70 on eBay. They are no good for wet weather or the odd excursion into the ocean (something that I have been known to do) as they are just paper. But there is nothing better in my opinion for sand and general bush bashing. I just use a outwares on the outside to cover the whole thing so that if I hit or drive through a tree or bush I don’t rip the paper. These things howl with a good filter and a rear dom.

No. They are similar but some one made a set of towers on here who had the same body as me. His came out great and there is no point reinventing the wheel so I "borrowed" the design. They whet designed to fit the TT and the monster dune runner which is going to use a team chase cage. Just fitted the tower shocks and it changes the stance of the DR a lot.

The shock towered look a bit vulnerable at the front. Not sure how it will stand up to a good bash. Good job I made spares. What do you think?

Looks great but as you say, it does look a bit exposed at the front. Going by the pictures it looks like you might be able to strengthen the design by making a sort of brace. The tower wouldn't look as nice as it does now though. I'm not sure if the black area would be enough. The yellow might be needed as well.

It would obviously been better to have this integrated in the design from the start but an alu piece bolted to the tower would probably add rigidity enough to prevent the tower from being damaged. Downside is that a bolted brace would limit your shock positions.

Something like this:
