one of my fishing boats have i believe 3mm dia grain of wheat bulbs for

the port/starboard lights and the 2 search lights......

my question is how can i tell what voltage they are without blowing them

Do you have any references to the original manufacturers?
Is it possible to contact them Keith?

If you have a DC transformer with a rheostat - or a model railway - you could establish it that way.

Al i have tried 3v-4.5v-6v but cannot tell what the correct voltage is

no i do not know where the bulbs came from........:(
