not raining this morning and a day off work so prefect day to go to the track
so i loaded up the car, i wouldn`t be long so thought i won`t take any spares just a few tools just in case
got to the track ,no one else there
unload the car , carry the gear to the pits fill up with petrol warm up the engine fit the shell clutch spring breaks !!!!! no spare (its at home)
load up car drive home and watch daytime tv :sleep:
 
They say you can never have enough spares......................

I disagree with this but it's important that there is spares back up at a race meeting to solve the problem you had. Where you at a practice day or just you turning up for a play?

i have just fitted an evo chassis and wanted to give it run and set up the suspension

mike i can still remember the shock me and neil had when you opened the boot of your car it was like a fg model shop new bits everywhere i don't know how you got in it as well
 
The problem is that as there are so few Leopard 2 cars racing (4 if we all turn up) there is no real chance of shop support at a race meeting unlike other brands. I need to carry all the spares I do should the worse happen.

I was doing a "stock take" of bits tonight before the scotland meeting.

I have a full car in spares plus extra shock shafts, seals and bits & bobs, more spare drive train bits inc gears, lay shafts, spare tank, chassis, engines, servos transmitter, recievers, modules for the tranny, wings, bumpers, side pods and a whole mannter of other tat.

The Scotland meeting is a 500 mile round trip - I need to be prepared.
 
follow on for my bad luck in this thread i went back down brooklands saturday the sun was out and about 10 other guys down there so i was hoping for a good days racing
i was not disappointed :):):)
it was the first run i had since fitting the evo chassis. what an improvement. i was running constant good laps [even with rubbish tyres] it was so easy to drive and for the first time i felt in control all the time
some else commented how fast my car was and for me that was a real boost
its taken 12 months from a total joke to being competitive :cup-1:
 
There are people like you that realise it'll take time to learn to drive & set your car up and there are others who just build a car/buy a car then turn up and expect it to work perfectly.

I've seen threads on various forums that have asked questions and asked for solutions to problems that wouldn't exsist if they'd bothered to set the car up.
