Well Guys, this REALLY IS where I am - right in the target zone of Hurricane Jova!!
I'm in Manzanillo, on the Pacific Coast of Mexico.
We plan to move in and up a little, to get off the coast, but will still get hit.
It's due to seriously hit, category 3-4 Hurricane tomorrow evening, in 24 hours' time.
It's 23:00 now and the sea's VERY rough!!
I'm next to a beach which forms part of a bay, which is normally full of ships waiting to get into the port.
In particular, there were 2 pretty large tankers / bulk carriers that have been sitting here for months.
When I took a look this morning, still calm, NOTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All should be fine, but I don't expect any telecomms for a few days.

Beach boys on full blast.....surf's up!!
Seriously Al hope its not too distressing. I can imagine you mixing a potion to get through it like something out of 51st state!! All the best bud!

Thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts!!
Jova hammered Manzanillo, but we were less than 100km away and up - SE of Manzanillo in the state capital, Colima.
Hotel was actually quite nice. Rain was very heavy but the main part missed us.
The Hotel had free Wi-Fi and could connect to every site, EXCEPT Large Scale Forums - strangely.
Just drove back down and in today - almost thought I was back in Africa!!
The Hurricane actually decreased to category 2 from 3, just before landfall - speeds less than 100mph, but the rain was serious.
One half of good sections of the dual carriageway have collapsed through the undercutting erosion of the storm floods, in several places, but the ride back was smooth.
The town's not too bad, and never lost either electricity or telecomms.
I'm now back in the same original hotel, with a 'mild tropical storm' Irwin on it's way, but not much is expected of this one - ships remain in the bay.
Peter - thanks for your thoughts, but I'm here alone, the family remaining in UK fortunately (never thought I'd say that!).
James, cheeky bar steward!!
Al.
