hey guys my god cant beleive it bought a 2.4ghz controller and receiver was running it for the first time today and the throttle got stuck suddenly on full, i definatly had set the fail safe properly for both front and back brakes dunno what happend!!! car hit a massive iron gurder, totally ripped the front end off, dented and split the bodyshell and smashed the throttle servo horn into bits and broke the servo tray. soo soo lucky the chassis appears to be not bent!!

im purplexed as to how the failsafes failed i thought an onboard 2.4ghz one would be better than a £10 old school one plugged into the thottle channel.

sigh body shell was new too lol oh and the battery pack is smashed to bits

ok ill do my best gotta try remember the password for the site i used to load the pics up, ill either make a new one or find it, could you remind me of the photo uploader lol doh my memory is not great lol. ahh man i was gonan upload pics of the car tonight hopefully all finished n nice. hopefully ill load some up for you after dinner.

is there a way for the failsafe on a 2.4ghz control system to totally fail? i just don't get it i dunno what happend.

i just want to see the pics ,mangled shocks and bent bits ,i love carnage .as long as its not mine............................Phil

failsafe will only help with singal loss, still gotta have power in the receiver battery and if your throttle jams or lock no failsafe is going to help, get yourself a kill switch.

The Killer Bee will automatically kill the engine during: radio glitch/loss, low battery, bad connection, or total battery power loss. You can also make the Killer Bee kill the engine anytime you want by pressing the transmitter's 3rd channel switch (Killer Bee v1), or by turning off your transmitter power switch (Killer Bee v2).

Everyone must have Kill switch OR ELSE!!!!!

Before I even drove my car I invested in a killer bee. This is not a small nitro these are cars that cost to much to drive without insurance(killer bee). Sorry that it happen to you. Hope that you don't have to buy another car and use that one for parts.

Yup, like above. A killswitch is the only true way of stopping a throttle servo failure. I've had that same issue with a faulty Hitec throttle servo. Thank goodness I found it had a bad board and sent it in for replacement before it burned out in WOT like yours did.

Failsafe doesn't work with out power on the receiver.

I would think your chassis is bent by the sounds of the damage, best way to check is to lay your chassis on a peace of granit or glass, something that is perfectly flat.

Hope it isn't bent.

Brad.

hey everyone really very sorry for my late replys on all your help just going to reply to voodoo quick and then will get back to you all :) erm i'm using futaba 3pm 2.4ghz had the failsafe set for layshaft brake and front cables, what i have noticed just today is when i disconnect the battery the throttle servo just sticks on full power if i unplug battery at that point!! so my theory is that the battery came lose and disconnected.

hey guys oh so the killerbee how and where can i buy one of these from? i was thinking is there some sort of killswitch if that happens with the failsafe? also are they easy to install or should i take it to my local model shop? update on the damage luckily very luckily it appears the chassis is still straight woohoo i think the force all went into the body and the front upright and suspension, the only thing that appears to me damaged is a crack in the servo tray and some paint loss and dents to the bodyshell! having issues with the engine now tho not from the accident.

ill explain real quick don't mean to type loads i changed the airfilter for a box type one and also using a slightly different oil from the previous owner, noticed today on fireup the wheels were turning and jerking a little and stopped after about a minute, also the engine seems to idel a bit to fast along with quite a lot of smoke from exhaust, i've read alot on the forum for tuning but still confused ah lol. thanks for all your help so far guys

Killer Bee can probably be bought from one of the major local suppliers - MMR, Rossendale, West Coast, etc - but normally it's directly from Killer Bee themselves (code LSF for 5% discount) or from DDM in USA - VAT and Post Office handling charges will apply.

FAILSAFE is generally built into all modern radio gear AND REQUIRES POWER as it resets the throttle servo to the preset position - normally 75-100% brake. Without power it can do nothing.
REMOTE KILL SWITCH cuts the ignition when no signal, power, etc.

Killer Bee is a remote kill switch. There are different models depending on your radio gear. Check with them directly before purchasing.

Al.
