hard starting

question have a rampage mt v3 with 32 cc engine. runs great-----when it runs. The darn thing is hard to start. i prime it, choke it,never hear it pop. I take the choke off pull a few times, give it some throttle, then no throttle, then some more throttle, then it might start or not. Have taken plug out,blew it dry cause it was flooded and used air to clean out piston, put it together and it runs.????? when it runs,its great. seems to flood out easy. From day 1, I never have heard it pop with choke on. whatch ya think??? plug not hot enough?
 
Only ever give it 2 pulls with choke on whether it pops or not.

Turn off choke and it should start in a couple of pulls.

How are your needle settings??
 
settings are 1 1/4 low and 1 1/2 high I did tweak it a little on low side, about a 1/16 rich. When it does run,it runs great. just hard to start. Right out of the box it was hard to start, not like the videos where a couple of pulls its off and running.
 
ok, I went and bought a new plug at Ace. primed it, pulled two times with choke on, heard it pop (first time for that), took choke off and pulled 3 more times with no throttle, and it fired up. couple hours later tried it again,same results, fired up and running. problem solved---needed new plug

well i have the rampage mt monster truck an the same prob with me...out of the box not wanting to start...finally got it started an only ran about 20 min maybe...tried starting it again an broke the pull rope...i installed the drill starter...waiting on the drill starter..i cant get it to fire again...ive set the needles like suggested..but nothing happens...also while trying ti start it...it spits fuel out the exhaust pipe not sure why...just looking for some answers...so i can get it broke in an have fun with it....i have the 32cc motor with a tuned pipe as well

If you've got fuel coming out of the exhaust it's obviously flooded.

Try taking the plug out and turning it upside down while pulling the rope to pump the fuel out.

Check for spark while you have the plug out and maybe replace it with an NGK CMR7H
 
well im new to having one like this...just wanting to learn all the tricks an what not...noy understanding why its being hard to start...starting to get frustrated just wanna drive it an have fun
