Has any one ran into starting issues with their cat? The past few days it has been next to impossible to start. Today it took 15 minutes and at least 50 pulls to get it to start. When it finally starts it smokes like it was flooded. It is getting too much fuel. I checked the spark plug, very wet. This happens even if I don't prime it. I have not made any changes recently. I am thinking it might be the carb. I actually have the low needle only about a half a turn out. That has how it has always ran. If I richen up the low needle any more I get loads of smoke and a fouled plug. This is what makes me think bad carb. When finally running it runs and idles great. And will start on the first pull every time (as long as it is warmed up) Gps ranges 32-35 mph depending on temp and humidity outside. Runs great no issues once started. I welcome any ideas you might have as I am stumped.

I figured it out:D I was flooding it. The days I was having trouble it was a good 105 out. Just like a gas can in the sun, the fuel in the tank, lines and primer bulb expand. Pushing extra fuel into the carb and cylinder. I tried to start it with no choke and what do ya know, fires right up on the second pull. So if she been in the heat no prime and no choke is my fix;)

So glad I didn't order the carb. Didn't want to spend money since I want an OBR motor.

Cool!!!!!!!! glad you discovered the problem I just really love when I discover something out on my own even if I discover it by accident!!!!!
