Been tied up with work lately and just found some time to work on my MT- I was supposed to put in a upgraded headkit due to all of the new alloy parts and just wanting some more speed. I asked a while back on some choices and most people recomended a head kit set that Rob was selling but I don't see it at rampagehopups anymore. SO my first question is, which head kit should I get and the second question is do I need to seal the gap with anything when placing the new head kit on? Any quick replies would be appreciated as I would like to place an order to day for some weekend work. :cool: Thanks!
 
Python Motors sports has the head kit you need its a 28.5cc and it like 70 bucks, there is a link to his web site on the banner of the fourms

that head is worth it, but you will need the 2mm crank to go with it. they sell it like that becouse some already have the 2mm crank. also check out this head kit, if ytou haven't allready got one. this one is $20 more. its the same 30.5 that you have linked, but this one comes with the stuffed 2mm crank and is race ported.. this motor is not childs play!!

forist- take note to the one you linked. it uses the .40 gaskit(old school). when adding the 2mm crank their is clearance issues with the piston/head. to compinsate they add a thicker gaskit wich really isnt the best thing to do. now they machine the head to compinsate for the 2mm crank so that you can use a standard gaskit. i guess its ok, but problems can come with the thicker gaskit. the machined heads are worth it.
 
i am useing one, no base gasket, i used ultra grey permatex, got me down to .020 clearence, one gal, so far, no leaks, ported it myself, do not get carried away here, cant see why you would want any more power, burn all 4 tires on tar, o yayh buy the way, im still on my stk plastic gears, no problems, i run a sealed gear case w/ chain & cable lube. a little hard to tune . but once you get it right hang on , , ,also i run 100 octane fuel, hope this helps.
 
Thanks for all of the reply's! I was trying to avoid messing with the crank, anyone have any suggestions on what will fit if I just want to replace the head and piston?
 
if your just looking for a nice top end, with no crank, then check this one out http://www.oneillbrothers.com/rccar/itemdescription/28cctopend_ported.htm thats the race ported 28.5. ($109)easy install. and its a monster. there is nothing wrong with skipping the crank wich has its down falls. with the 2mm crank you will lose some top rpms, but gain a good amount of low end torque. if your feeling really bold and want the best with an easy install, check this one out.. http://www.oneillbrothers.com/rccar/itemdescription/reedported_28cckit_wr.htm ($209) same motor with a reed kit. the reed kit will give you a nice amount of power from the bottom to the top. the reed kit is like a one way check valve. every time the piston goes up, a small amount of fuel gets pushed back into the carb. the reed kit elimanates that and allows more fuel to stay in the cumbustion chamber..
