Hey Guys,
I'm new to LSF and I've been looking around for some time and am very pleased with the info here! Good stuff!

My friend just purchased a HPI 5B so he has officially started showing up my Savage :) I cant have that!

That said, I'm about to purchase a new KM Baja, probably the new 02 model with the 30.5cc motor.

I've noticed the sticker on it says its a Fuelie, but my friend doesn't think it is?

I haven't been able to find much in regards to specs of the motor etc. Anyone know who manufactures them?

And out of curiosity, how does the 30.5 perform compared to the HPI 26 that is found in their SS? I'm not a perfomance freak though, just a backyard basher, but I am curious as to how your KM engines are performing.

Either way, I look forward to joining the discussions here at LSF.

PS- re: spare parts, what do you recommend "just in case"?
 
"FUELIE" is more of a gimmick from hpi, king motor and most small r/c engine manufactures,
the engine in the baja 5b is not a zenoah or a chung yang but a clone of one of them, with that said the engine in the king motor is the same a clone of either one or both.
both engines are "fuelies" just from there respective makers,
as for performance that 26cc will get better high end response, but the 30.5 will get better low end response,
so basicly they are opposites of each other,
 
well for the 30.5 just go with the cy engine damn, im sure either would fit theres is just some suttle differences, but i think a outerware crank case cover would be better, this one only has a 42% covered area so you will still get debris in the fan, just no large rocks or sticks get in, but grasses,sand, and muds still can get in there
 
As far as engine screens any one will do they are just meant to keep debris out of the flywheel area and for that matter you can make one yourself if you wanted. The first thing you are gonna want to get is a Kill switch to protect from runaways, hate to see your new toy ruined:)
