hey guys, my name is allan from chicago. i have a Rampage MT. I have already replaced the upper/lower arm to aluminum (front and back). Installed a new rollcage and switch out the pull start to electric. Gone through the check list before getting it started and its been a week and she still wont purr!

So far this is what i've done:

- correct gas/oil mixture

- set the High to 1 1/2 and Low to 1 1/4 turns (counter clockwise) after turning it all the way till it lightly touches the bottom

- purged the bulb 3 times after it filled up and closed choke the tried pulling for 5 times (before i swapped out for electric start)_

- opened choke after and pulled 5 more times

- checked the plugs for spark and they are good. at first i thought spark was week but after i tried the plugs from my weed wacker, i get the same spark. so thats ok.

- swapped the electric start and still wont fire up.

- drilled out gas cap (5 holes) to a bigger size but i'll be venting the tank properly as soon as it starts.

My level of frustration is now on high!!! so any help/tips will be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Allan

It sounds like the motor is getting flooded of the get go...Lein out the lsn a 16th and don't pull more than twice with the choke on! Even if it does not pop it should be ready to turn off the choke and pull amd make sure the idle screw is set so its against the throttle hammer.. I will garentee that all the issues you are haveing is in the tune of the carb. There is a sticky on how to set up your carb without using your choke and will work awesome if your spot on.

5 pulls with the choke on will flood it. If you pull the plug and it looks wet you have flooded it. These engines will start with out even using the choke. The choke will save a pull or two, if it's cold.

mmmm check the spark plug for a spark when pulling the crank. my spark plug was defective from the factory and didnt wanna start so i had to swap it out.
