this is a problem that is driving me nuts!! im having these radio interferance problems that are getting worse and EXPENSIVE. at first i thought it was just the cheap stock radio gear, so i replaced it with a futaba 3pm and have 2 recievers. i have tried both. at a point on the track and in any parking lot it gets a blood boiling glitch that pulls the wheel to the left and doesn't allow for throttle control or my failsafe to kick on. i run 2 rigs from this same radio and don't have any problems with my other car. ive swapt recievers and the problem still irrives constantly. it seems like it picks a designated area and only happens in this one spot. any where i go! i cant seem to figure out what is happening. i am now running good electronics with good reciever pack and digatil servos, and its just getting worse. when i mention this i sure im goig to get,"well, thats your problem".. but ive been running this way in ALL my rigs for 10 years with no problems. i run the antenna under the shell with a small antenna tube with it neatly wrapped on the outside and held tight with a small peace of fuel tubing. and have never had a problem like this.. it will be changed with my next body, as you can see from the photo..lol.. but i just cant seem to believe that thats it!! any help would be nice.. enjoy the pics!!!

where are your servo wires? not close to rec are they?what a bout discolored clutch bell
it will give off a signal for inrerferance..What about your spark plug wire? Some times
your metal control linkages will do the same thing cause interferance..Had that happen
with nitro..No pinched or frayed wires?..Your TX & Rec are good choice..Last of all
could be 1 bad servo..Just a few things to check..Best of luck..AkA Slawhammer

wow slaw. im going to go over each one of those that you mentioned and let you know what i find. my hobby door is closed right now as i don't wana go in there. brand new body and a chassis... grrr!!

in the 3pm manual it says to have the antenna sticking out of the car as high as it will ho and there is a pic of how it should be done.
i have a 3pm and the antenna is as the pic shows and i get as much range as there is room to run and no glitches.
check your manual and make your antenna set up as the pic shows.
this may solve your problems.

If you are running digital servos you may be having a failure in the servo as well. Funny thing about those digital servos if there is a cold solder somewhere they seem to show it as they warm up. Here is a interesting video of one of my crazy digitals going out (glitching) as it warms up. I also have seen this type of problem when a battery is starting to go bad or low on a 2.4ghz system.

1st.
Take the car and for 5-10 min let it sit on in the stand motor off and run the electronics like you would at the track. See if it glitches.

2nd
Take the car to the track with someone else and do the same in the areas you are having the glitches.

3rd
Take the car and do the same at the track but off the ground and motor running in the areas you are having glitching.

The 1st will show a servo (electronics) problem.
The 2nd will show a RX (receiver) problem.
The 3rd will show a antenna or noise receiver problem.

make sure you don't have any rubbing of the linkages on other metal items. that too can cause glitching. you have the FASST 3PM. if you have the FM one, then you still may be seeing glitching.

a remote motor kill switch can also show signs of signal interferance. any signal interferance and it wants to shut down the motor. you can just turn it all on, without the motor started, and see if the kill switch is kicking in and out.

i have one on my hooter baja, and one day i was going to go for a run and my kill switch was flicking on and off. i couldnt get rid of it and wasnt sure what interferance i was getting. im useing the React, so idealy i shouldnt of been getting any, but i was.

so i just discod the kill switch and took it for a run. about 20 mintues into it, my radio went to failsafe from a low rx battery. so i took it in and gave it a charge. after chargeing i reconnected my kill swith and no glitching at all. so im thinking the "glitching" i was seeing wasnt a glitch so much as it was a low rx battery the kill switch was sensing and going into motor kill mode.

are you SURE the rx batt was well charged? and not low?
