So weekend 2, you guys helped me with the tuning so now this bad boy starts on the second or third pull which is awesome.

I start tearing it up, jumping and throwing dirt everywhere, jumping through a ravine and wooops hit a small concrete block buried in the dirt, and bam off goes the wheel.

So I look at the carnage, actually there isnt any. Bearing was intact but it looks like a lock washer gave way saving everything else. My question is

#1 is it even called a lock washer?

#2 When I look these up all HPI replacements are all circles mine was more of a "C"

#3 is this an HPI compatible part because I have a local hobby shop that carries HPI stuff, and I should be able call them and find out but a part number would help save me a trip if they don't carry it (English is a second language for her so explaining it over the phone can be tough)

Any help as always is appreciated guys!

Correct, it should of came with extras, you just have to take off the front carrier and reinstall the hub and club. Make sure both bearings are in there! (inner and outer).. If you don't have one let me know, I can drop one in an envelope for you.

Awesome guys. Yes both bearings are there. Unfortunately I think the spare clips fell prey to the kids so I will run to the hobby store tomorrow. Are the front and back clips the same size? And do I just slide them on or is there abtrick to it or tool I should use?

I believe they are 7mm e-clips, and they are pretty easy to install. I use a flatblade screwdriver to install them when the car is put together.

Some people get tired of the E-clips popping off, and perform a modification to overcome that.
It's the usual thing with RC. It's there for a reason, so if you 'upgrade' the part, you're going to pass the stress onto somewhere else ....

That looks sweet, your lucky i lost my wheel in the long grass

I did find it a week or so later.......... it was killed and eatin by one of those
lawn mower tractors :crying:

It is the Km body. I hope they keep making them. Love the beatle!

And I agree I actually like the clips. I really thought I would have way more damage. To find that the clip was all that snapped was really surpising

By the way if any one knows of a pickup truck body for this guy I would love to hear of it. I like the weekend offroad look rather than the short course or trophy truck look.

Dave discount motors has a cool hummer body that I might try.

that hummer body is ideal for onroad but offroad it looks so god dam weak

have you seen the mounting support to hold the body on??? its a joke

Lol I think I am going to agree with you guys. After a good roll I think this will be a cracked tangled mess.

Lol yea it looks good. But I think everyone is right when they say it is for the road.

I hope KM keeps making that beetle body too. I bought one of the last PL beetle bodies a few weeks ago, and have not painted it yet. If it ever breaks its good to know KM has a replacement.

I love the beetle body they look good and yes it pays to some weak points on your, car which will save you $$$$ in the long run :)
