Just ordered an MT-5 V2 Roller from DDM today with the free shipping and free sidedom plus 5% off coupon code. Came to $588.00.

I wanted to order a few spare parts, I currently have a fully pimp 5T and don't intend to go to crazy again with this bad boy, but I would like to add a couple of things.

I did reseach the heck out of this as I have been lurking since last year secretly learning about this rc.

This is what i have already for the MT:

- Spekky 3.0

- ESP 30.5

- WT-883

- HPI filter with redneck and outerware

- Pull start outerware

- HPI SS shocks black ano'd with GH piggy backs (I read about the fact I need 4 fronts) Can anyone tell me what wieght they run? 20/40 would be my guess?

This is what I would like to order:

- Drive cup savers from LSRC (I read the thread and understand that the dog bone pins need to be shaved)

- Full Force Servo clamps for large scale, these are good because i intend to use dual 5745 so i read the tabs need some trimming to fit on them

- Dual 5745

- The new updated redcat steel gears/alloy plate that I think member Kryptonite is testing; From what i have read they will be available shortly.

These are some parts I tried to research but can't find a ton of info about and would like some help with:

- Alloy centre diff mounts, anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it a good upgrade?

- Alloy front brace; again any thoughts? Worth it?

- Bearing Upgrade; should I get myself a bearing upgrade kit such as the FE kit?

- Alloy futaba servo mounts; this one is a bit of a pickle, I have dual steering on the MT, do these mounts even apply to me? My best guess is they only fit the one side from the original single servo steering?

Thanks for your input,

RV

ok roccos.. sounds like you got it figured out.. so if i can help?

-the shocks, you will have to space/shim the lower spring retainer to run the hpi's. the plastic shock mount on the shaft end is shorter then stock, so the spring retainer binds the spring(slightly?). your on you own for oil wieghts if you use the hyper adjust. becouse the front chassis has less kick up then the baja's you may want to keep the oil wieght closer(ei, 40 rear/30 front).. im running 40 rear, and 35 front with hpi shafts and redcat pistons.

-lsrc cup savers.. awsome investment, but don't forget to center the shafts using either o-rings or these. http://powerslideracing.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=532

-steel geers, don't waste any time picking these up from rampagehopups.com.. still not sure when, but soon.

-alloy center diff mounts, don't have them, so my opinion is bias. don't really think its needed. not so much flex there. the plastic seems to be just fine. the alum ones did have some bearing fit issues, but it may be takin care of

-alloy front brace, its nice and better then stock, but it doesn't completly ilimanate front end flex. i didnt bother with this mod on my 2nd ramp, and wont on my 3rd ramp either, but their is a noticable diffrence

-bearing upgrade, go for it. the stock bearings are ok if they stay dry. after a few gallons they tend to get "sloppy" and/or seize, wich is something you don't want in the gear carrier and center diff mount. ($44 with 10% coupon code. rrf)

-servo mounts. thats a pickle. not available for V2's yet. i would stick with stock mounts. the servos need to be slid in from the bottom to clear wire, and the chassis mounting holes are slightly off. it may sound "hack like", but just cross thread them and you'll get all 4 mounting screws in. remove the lower mounting tabs and that will keep the servo(s) off the chassis. the alloy futaba mount still needs some shaving.

i see your eyeing up the alum bits. the first thing to go will be the front stearing mounts. http://www.rampagehopups.com/product.sc?categoryId=6&productId=267 you can see how they are round? thats a good upgrade as well as the steering arm. also the RAMtech suspension mounts are great. stock suspension mounts have plastic nipples that sit into the chassis. on front end impacts they rip off, so your diff case will crack and more prone to lose dog bones. RAMtechs are threaded to the chassis and have replacable bushings

other then that, glad you finally sprung up.. take some pics when you get it..

Wow, thank you so much for your help so far! Well, you know I would love to order my parts from rampagehopups.com but it says on the home page "no international orders can be processed". I may have to get my suff from elsewhere. I really want to just make 1 order but may have to make a few, as LSRC has some of the pieces you mentioned out of stock, (steering and suspension mounts) So i don't know where to get them. Need to look around a bit.

EDIT: I noticed that LSRC has the rear suspenion mounts in stock; are front and rear exactly the same?

sorry bout that. every body knows i live in a bubble:D.. with tinted windows..lol.

so i would really check out vancouver as well.. local for you and also owned by one of our members(gas jocky)..

front and rears?.. they refer to them as front "of the diff case" and rear "of the diff case". you can also get the redcat "alloy option" part and be just fine, but the ramtechs have the replacable bushing.

Thanks, but he doesn't have the ramtech pieces Kryptonite recommended...
EDIT: i will contact them with my wishlist and see if they can help...
Scott will be able to get you everything you want. He is a great guy, awsome customer service, and he is in Canada.

Thanks again to all whom have helped, I've ordered a few things so far and took Krytonites' advice:

DAVE'S

MT-2 Rampage

LSRC

Aluminum Transmission Gear Plate for Rampage

FullForce Servo Clamp for Large Scale Servos

AXLE BOOT 22x47mm (12pcs)

Ramtech Alum. Rear Lower Pin Brace

CHINA SELLER

High Tourque Metal Gears

VANCOUVER HOBBIES

Vertigo Bearing

Alloy 050005 steering mounts in blue

050008b alloy front brace in blue

Still need to find the ramtech front brace, the only place with them in stock is rampage hopups but he doesnot ship international, and scott from Van hobbies told me he won't be ordering for a couple of weeks. I guess I'll have to wait on this.

If you include the parts I already have (motor, filters, carb, shocks) This is going to be a killer MT with around $1500 invested, that's less than half what I spent on the T. These parts are affordable, the service is good and I like the product. My real passion is building them anyways so I'll put up some pics maybe do a build thread who knows.
