Hitec HS805 MG for steering in MT

I know that this servo is not a direct fit in the MT, so what mods have to be done to make it fit? I have the dual servo set-up.


I have been going bonkers trying to make it fit and searching for pictures of what is needed.


Any help would be appreciated.

I would assume 050010B, but does that take care of the mounting issues on both sides? It seems to me that that would only take care of the right side...the two steering servo mounts and then the throttle/brake servo plate extension...is my assumption correct?
 
The Futaba mount will work on the right side, then you have to figure something out for the battery box side. I've seen it done, but I can't find the thread. I believe he had to make his own mounts for it to work. I'll keep looking, I'm sure it's around here somewhere.
 
Okay great.

So is 50117 the same as 050010B just plastic? I would rather save a few bucks and stay with plastic.

And 50118 includes servo horns that fit the Hitec servos, correct?

It looks slightly different, which is why I ask. In the manual it states that 50117 and 50118 can be used for Hitec servos, but on RedCat's website it states that 50117 is for all Rally and Dunerunner models...so what's the verdict? Safe to assume that 50117 is in fact a plastic version of 050010B?
 
Okay, great, so 50017 and 50018 are what I need for the right steering servo and servo horns for Hitec servos? Does 50118 include two of the horns that would be used for the steering servos?

The 805's come with servo horns that will work and they're a lot stronger. I'm not sure about the servo horns in 50118, man. They look like stock horns, to me.
 
Just got off the phone with Redcat and they said that the servo horn set is just for their servos, so I will just tinker with the horns that came with the Hitec servos. Going to be ordering the plastic mounts 50117 and hopefully someone can post pics of what to do on the left side, before I start drilling holes and start messing things up.

I have the 805, not the 5805.....and I just looked them up, and the specs are the same. opps. lol

hmmm...what side do you run yours on? Would it just be useless having two of them, considering it would drain the battery a little quicker and now add any noticeable power?
 
Crap I thought it said 5805 on your post! I checked speed and torque are about the same but the 805 is analog and the 5805 is digital, I have mine mounted on the right side,I have been running a single for over a year and it works flawless
