I have been browsing through a few threads regarding steering servos, but I am still not sure what the best servo for my needs would be.

My preferences are that they have to drop right in, obviously have to be reliable, be in the $40-$80 per servo range, metal gears w/BB, high tq + speed (compared to stock at least), able to perform well with the stock 2500mah battery.

Digital>analog??

Do you know what this is its 1/5 scale not sure of make.

Thanks I was thinking the same thing. A friend had it for sale was thinking about buying it.

300 is a good price if it's in good shape I had a kM an had a lot of problems with it most of the 5b parts will bolt right on. But it depends what it needs. You can get a 5bss kit for 900 an it's a lot better. It's with any used rc you have to see what it's needs an how much to fix it. If it's going to cost about the same then it's better to buy new.

Im meeting him tomorrow to check it out. I have a rampage xt bought new and have already replaced parts lol. I was going to go new but thought if the price was right then the extra money upgrade it.

Haha yeah I was running nitro wow. So now im going to try my luck with gas. So far 4 tanks on xt one front axle down.

Thanks for jackin' my thread

:p

So no Savox users?

Is the 5765 a direct fit and one of the most popular servos? Any cheaper, yet somewhat comparable alternatives?

I have used both. The Savox 236 is a powerful servo. Both the Hitec and Savox perform much better on 8.4v.

Neither is a perfect fit. None of the good servos have the same bolt pattern as the stocker.

The Hitec 5805 and 805 are nice inexpensive servos and will get the job done.

How does the upgraded servo from Redcat compare to the ones that were mentioned....or is there no comparing? What are the specs on the 52019MG from Redcat??

The stockers are ok, but the aftermarket unites are better. They Hitec 805 is less money and performs better.
