What do you guys think about this servo: Hitec HS-7950TH Ultra Torque

is it too much for a steering servo? The gears in it are ..titanium

it should be a good servo for 119.00 bucks
Sorry, I meant if it's too much torque to use on a rampage?!

403 oz/in torque @ 6volts.

Or 486 oz/in torque @ 7.4volts

Do you know anyone that's using this on their redcats right now? Should I go ahead and buy one? I just want it because it's titanium. I really don't know much bout what specs I really need for the Ramp. All I see on this forum use mostly hs-5645 & 5746's

i would have one if i had the money! i run the hitech 805bb it has 347oz of torque that turns the monster truck tires if the truck is moving it's still not enough torque at 347. i would make sure you buy a receiver battery that has 3000mah :D

decisions,decisions... why does everything have cost over $100?

My list:

Wheels&Tires

Hs-7950Th

desert rat shell

i use dual 5745's with my kaylee tires which is almost twice the size of the tt tires and they work great
How much do they weigh? Are they lighter than the MT's?

Are all steering servo's the same size.. I'm probably going to get the 7950th next week. I'm worried it might not fit or something..

7950 is a standard scale servo, wont fit without mod.

What mod does it need? Servo mount?
yes,you need extra throttle/brake servo plate, but i don't recommend one standard scale servo for steering,i had 7950 in my tt-gears didnt last long, with two of them its already better.

Which servo(s) do you prefer? And should I go dual steering servo or just one?

multiplex rhino digi 4 was always my first choice, but since the 7,4v servos came out i changed to smaller servos to reduce weight(its about -160g 2 large scale servos vs. 2 standard scale servos)if you looking best value for money take digi 4(hitec 5755 in USA?)with dual steering system any 15-30kg 0,14-0,17s. servo will be enough. if you are looking for the best take two 7950 or 7990 -better than that is already hard to find:D

7990 specs

Torque: 36.0 kg-cm (500 oz-in) @ 6.0V

44.0 kg-cm (611 oz-in) @ 7.4V

thanks for all the info guys..
