well i would like to report that my engine woe,s have gone but they ain,t, 2weeks ago at deeside my baja started holding back at top end, then the problem turned in to a mid range bog, swap,d the carb and the coil pack, still the same, so orderd a 26cc, cy top end took it out again started sounded good then after 10 min,s back came the bog, could be an air leak so got a bottom end off big jay fitted it to the new top end, cleaned the tank out and the clunk made sure the filler cap was vented cleaned exhaust out with caustic soda oh and fitted a new flywheel for good measure oh and a new plug, and its still the f***ing same.

what gearing and pipe are you using again?

it almost sounds reminisent of Heat Soaking. ie, runs good when cold but after its warm, it gets TOO warm and start to kill all the power.

whats the squish at, what headgaskets you using what crank?

Its time to change the crankshaft seals and bearings
air is getting in when your at high revs due to the increased pressure changes

once they have been changed the engine will run fine again

I have just rebuilt my engine because of the very same problem and its fine now

the engine is totally different now i got a good bottom end and a new cy top end, but its acting the same as the old motor its making me think its somthing outside the motor,

Reckon that "heat soaking" thing sounds possible mate. Cos it ran well for 10 mins when you fitted the new head kit didnt it, but when it got warm it bogged.
So maybe as it all heats up and expands, and as you reach higher revs and therefore higher pressure, the leak starts to affect things and cause the bog ???????

Is the flywheel doing its job? Could it be worn in the centre or the key missing off the shaft? This will make the shaft spin within it and not turn the wheel properly. This could cause over heating.
I say this cos I assume you put the same flywheel back on that was on when it suddenly started bogging out? Worth a check. The biggest headaches are often caused by something simple.

sounds the same as my engine prime the carb starts ok runs ok on half throttle then bogs on full throttle no fuel in prime bole cleand tank and carbfuel pipes- fitted new carb reset needles changed carb gaskets still no change
