I am just wondering why the gears will be melted if the gear cover was not drilled holes on it ?

I was thinking of cutting bigger holes in it an using a fine mesh screen to cover them on the inside, ill try it and post some picks.

I got the holes cut now and screen on it waiting for the epoxy to dry. Your way looks good to kryptonite i may add something like that later to.

I did something like that some time ago.

Round holes on the front and back.

I put the screen on the outside so in case it fell off it would not get tangled with the gears.

I'm not running a gear cover atm. I got a race this weekend and I wanna give this one particular track marshall a nasty surprise when I purposly flip my car in front of him :D . Naw, I wont do that even though it's tempting.

On the serious side... You guys did a nice job with the screens. Does the gear cover wobble any with material cut off of it?

The one i did don't at all i left a support in it to help sturdy it up going to try it after work today and see how it runs with it on. Then maybe try a little venting in the side if it needs more.
