I opened the Baja tonight for Christmas. Straight out of the box an axle boot has a tear. I start to get over that. Well I go to install the Full Force windows I bought that would fit the "baja" well I can mount the front, the sides can be pissed down the drain, the lights are not in the same place as the HPI Baja, I would be ok with that. But some people should not pass this poop off that HPI parts will fit. I am sure most will, but the flipping ass light placement?

sorry to hear that, iv been telling people for awhile that the km/rovan clone parts differ from the hpi's

I have been told I should have asked before I bought the windows and they could have told me they would not fit.FYI I guess windows do not fall under "most" HPI parts will fit.

This is the statement from the Ebay add. I am a dumb ass for not realizing the contradiction itself was gonna be the beginning of problems.

"This is vehicle is fully compatible with HPI 5B, HPI SS, and HPI 2.0 baja buggy models.
Most HPI stock parts and aftermarket parts are interchangeable with King Motor buggies."

I should have read more clearly. Hmmmm, these two statement contradict themselves.

i just put my 2 cages side by side and they are exactly the same. km and hpi , the km cage is the orange one from the ksrc001

ill get pics tomorrow

well most of us never said that all parts are swappable, but most are, i have hpi parts on mine as well as aftermarket stuff, all fit on mine. most of it is aftermarket and only a couple hpi compatible and a 1 or 2 hpi parts. pics like mentioned would help us in seeing exactly what the problems are, and possibly aide in giving advise.

The light mounts on the alloy roll are like an 1" farther up. And it is more narrow. I will post pic but here is the link of the one I have

Notice how they are positioned higher up. I have calmed down now. Still will give the set of windows away. They are not worth even trying to modify

mine come with the plastic roll cage and is still what i use, but mines not the buggy mines the truck so roll cages are a lil different, and from whats been said, i take it the plastic ones differ slightly from alloy ones on the buggies. im not sure if a hpi alloy cage will fit a km buggy or not correctly. since i don't have the buggy but the truck i cant say for sure.

Is the axle boot something I need to change out right now? I am not sure what it is protecting exactly. Or is it something I can get away with for awhile. Its one of them that is on the diff side of bone

the joints should have grease in them to prevent wear. i went with hpi boots on my km and they tear easily too. km assembles there dogbones dry so ya you could run it for a bit without much damage/ wear to the drive cups. but i would recomend getting hostile or hemistorm boots and grease the joints

well I did a half assed fix lol. I have liquid electrical tape and put it over the tear. its flexible so I am hoping it will keep the dirt out. But heck a set is only like 10 bucks so no big deal

i got hostiles on mine the black ones, and the TFE diff, and bone grease, loaded that boot up good, theyre a tight fit, but what helped me was i got the darksoul meaty bones, i popped the boots on bones then added the cross pins and tightened down the set screws, remember to use loctite on set screws, made getting them on axles waaaay easier, i tore a hostile on the original bone pin, was peeee oD. i even had the cone tfe boot thing for poppin boots on bones that had pins in place, didnt work, ripped that sucker apart around the lip cuz that lil tiny output end will not stretch out as wide as bottom of cone, no matter how much tfe grease i had on it.
