hi guys, hope you all had a good 1! :)

anyway onto my question:

im thinking of buying some elcon fixed lower arms for my MB Pro, i know i also need XL drive shafts, but how do i attatch theese lower arms to my chassis (pic below) ..at the mo im using normal alloy arms that use ball joints to attatch them to my chassis, but i want to use these instead so i don't have to mess about with ball joints.. any ideas how i fit them to my chassis, is there another part i need?

XL lower arms:

XL ball drive kit: (needed to use the XL lower rear arms above)

cheers :)

yeah there is another part required im sure you could find it on elcons site,,,but if it was me id stick with the rose joints as there cheaper to replace after a crash or damage how much is the elcon to replace if you cain it

atm im using alloy lowers but the standard size that use balljoints, the XL elcon ones cost £38 euro each which is about the same i paid for the ones i have now except i wont need balljoints as they just fit straight to the chassis & they are slightly longer than the standard ones so will give a lil more stability \o/

only downside is i also have to buy the XL ball drive system which is a further 68 euro for the set.. no idea how good the elcon ball drive system is so im not sure yet weather to go ahead :s

..thing ive found the part i need but the part which is a wishbone mount will also raise my diff about 6mm so its gunna put my engine brace out by around 6mm, guess i could just use washers to fill the gap

yeah its just a case of adding a 6mm spacer,,whats it cost all together inc wishbones and mount and drive shafts it does look good and the extra width will help out

think im sorted..

don't need to raise diff just need the elcon wishbone mount which fits around the diff holder, got the last pare which were on sale from hobbythek for around £12 :D

Also no need for the ball drive kit... the EXL wishbones require 106mm dogbones, elcon only do that size as balldrive kit, however ive did some research (unlike me!) for some normal dogbones around 106mm long for largescale & found that the 4WD baja front dogbones are 107mm, so just waiting for it all to arrive in post :)

just got my Elcon wishbone mounts & 107mm dogbones today :)

now waiting on the Elcon lower arms / shell & my new chassis \o/

Stripped down my engine last night, fitted new head gasket & also fitted header for my new pipe. Didnt need to do piston ring as its already got a new one i fitted few months back & only used my MB about 2 times since i fitted it \o/

Hello mate. I run these on my truck, not xl though just standard width. They really are great! Got sick of ball joints loosening and such complicated set up. These are easy to fit and very easy to adjust also.

Enjoy
