How do you clean your buggy?

Hey guys its Meli. I ran though a mud puddle a day ago with my mut n now its all dirty. I know I cant just put the thing in the bathtub, cause if i do i kill all my servos. That would just suck. I cant spray it with wd40 then blast it with the air compressor cause it died.

Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions that i can use to clean my buggy? Its cool that its dirty from my driving it but i would like to be able to clean it for pics n stuff.

I would get the air compressor fixed, I use one to clean mine and it makes the job a million times easier :)
 
I couldn't live without an air compressor. I have 2, and one is my back up in case the main one dies. I am an auto detailer and the compressor is one of the most used tools I own.

another good tool for cleaning is a steam blaster. for really dirty stuff, I spray with cleaner (a degreaser type soap/all purpose cleaner) and blast with the steamer, then hit with air.

you could also do it old school with a tooth brush. and oddly enough, furniture polish makes all the old plastic parts look clean and new again. it even cleans bodies really well. Try it, you'll be shocked at how well it cleans, even windows.... and smells better than wd40. wd40 = fish oil, furniture polish = lemon oil
 
Well all are good ideas to use so far. However our compressor is not working at the time n i don't know when we are going to be able to get it fixed.
 
i use wd-40 and don't have an air compressor. i pull the wheels off and put it it a large tub or just prop it up next to a tree. then just spray away. the wd-40 wont hurt anything... i use a tub to save the exrta wd couse you can put it back in a spray bottle and use it again(cheapo).. th bad thing with wd is dust sticks to it the next time out. to avoid that i dry it off really good using a hair dryer. i also use an old paint brush wile im spraying it down to get the large stuff off.. don't tell anybody, but after all thats done and everything is dry i take 50/50 water an armorall and just lightly sprits the hole rig. makes it shiny and the dirt just falls of the next time out..well, kinda..lol..
 
I like to use purple power or simple green..they both do a great job cleaning the
fuel split over or any grit,grim ,dirt.....I spray it on from a spray bottle..use a small
paint brush ..to work any stuff loose..respray again with purple power or simple green
..I have another spray bottle with water to wash off slowly..I towel dry...or use a hair
dryer....to bow any thing that may have gotten close to the electronics.....
Been doing this a long time......so far no problems.....I could use my airbrush compresor
it will make 50 lbs of air pressue,,,,..........I am sureyou will come up with some that
will work for you shortly......Slawhammer...
 
simple green precision parts cleaner. Its available at home depot in the automotive section. You spray it on and let it soak, then blow it off with an air hose. No water required and your chassis parts shine like they were polished. Its new and its awesome stuff.
