Ok I got bored so I built another. I raised the front end about an inch higher so the roofline is a little more streamlined. Also, it totally clears my TGN filter that sticks way out from a tall Z-RC intake. Basically the roof is alot less angled from the old one. Take a look and let me know if the old blue rollcage or the new one looks better.

1st pic is the old one and everything after is the new one.

UPDATED

I've reworked the 2nd cage to have a lower front end like the 1st. Here's the new pics of both of them finished. The one on the left is the 2nd cage. It has some chopped hex bolts with washers for the front mounting and the rear mount is washed too. The 1st cage doesn't have the washered mounts but does have the light and light switch mounts. Also, the blue paint isn't really that light baby blue. That's just from the flash.

It's really this color.

The 1st. one appears to be sleeker, the newer one not so much but offers better protection for the carb area. Is it mounted w/ pull-pins and screws?

The second one is better!!! Now sell me your first one! hehehe

Seriously if you decide to sell that blue one, PM me.

I like both , With the rampage the front tower needs a brace to like you have in back of second one. I braced mine in front with seperate sub cage coming off front area of My cage.

Good work though Looks good and creative.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. Also, I do like the first one better since the front end is lower. This second one was built to protect the carb since I broke my last one skidding upside down on the sand. I snapped the plastic rings that hold the main filter body on the carb.

That one has the light mounts, light switch mount, and extra loving. I may just drop the front end down on the second one and sell it.

The front mount uses the stock mount w/ pins, the rear mount uses the body post mounts flipped upside down w/ pins, and the center support goes straight into the stock hole w/ the stock bolts. Basically, you just flip your rear body post mounts and drop it right in.

If it looks very close to the first one and can use the factory MT body mounts. Im there! That angled shot you have of the first cage looks pretty sweet.

Ya I stole the engine from it. I broke any crankcase whith the Phatdad engine brace and WSE rear brace and I'm done with that thing. I gotta clean that mofo up one day and get it on ebay and the HBF. It's like having $1000 in the bank without generating any interest.

I'm gonna go ahead and drop the front end tonight. I think it looks better too. I doubt I'd crush another filter mount. I think that was just a fluke. The rear end is also higher. I did that so I can get a fatter pipe in there one day. It also should take alot of stress of the wing so I'll leave it like it is.

Just great. I'm still amazed how they perform. For instance, I took one of my Bajas with sand paddles and my Rampage to the sand hill where I normally go. I was expecting to play with the Baja on the sand and run my Rampage around the flat dirt areas. Well, the Baja's battery went dead so I ended up running the Rampage up the sand hill. Even with those skinny tires I was able to get up those loose sand banks. I was expecting to get stuck at first but nope. It actually ran really well.

Soon as I finish these rollcages I'm gonna get my new Lauterbacher 4 shoe in and see how it does with the DS/Sikk engine instead of the old 28.5.

I hope you decide to build these for sale. Prob. a lot of work for not much $$ but one can hope.

Good work.

I also like the first one better. The lower front gives you more options when fitting a buggy body, if you plan on running a body. As for the air filter you could always curve a piece over it like you did for the spark plug, I think that should keep it safe on a rollover.

Ya, Im with you on that one Pwaicon. I like the first one better, mainly because it looks good without a body. When I run I prefer to go topless if possible, but sometimes where I bash at I want a body to help protect things.

I like the first one also. That thing looks sweet. Definately no body needed with that setup.
