ok i bought my 001 off ebay. it said 45mph and i see the 002 listed as 60mph are these estimates accurate or are they making them seem faster than what they are. and does a pipe really add 1hp as they say?

well i have mine lazered by my local PD as well as a few suburban since they look like they where fast, and the most i have seen was like 41mph,average around 38-39mph even my 1/8 scale cars looked they where hauling ass but when lazered they would only be hitting like 48mph with 2 speeds, they looked like they where going a lot faster, might be the wrong lazer to use but i doubt they hit whats advertised,
now maybe scale MPH would be a lot different

45 mph yes but 60 mph ? The dude on ebay is talking BS!

And yes a pipe can add hp even by 1.

haven't had a chance to vehicle follow mine to get a mph, i have a 1/4 mile stretch of road out in front of my house i run it down to one end, im bout in the middle, to where i can still see it enuff to control it, and hit the gas, once it hits 2nd gear, i have mine set prolly a tad high, i can only leave it there for a couple secs then have to start braking cuz its almost same distance on other end. only way i will ever get a top end is to follow it in a vehicle on a longer stretch. but im pretty darn sure im goin over 40 just out here, and its still accelerating when i let off and brake.

My 777 can hit speeds over 45mph.. I know, cause a friend was chasing it using a scooter :D

60mph, i'm not sure... EP can probably go there, thinkin of a Mamba 9900kv... But its a lot of tweaking to get it to reach those speeds, AND getting it stable enough to stay at those speeds and not wrecking itself... That's a lot of work.

I'd take the 60mph claims with a grain of salt dude... That kind of speed requires a lot of tweaking, upgrading, endless testing, crashing and burning...

Ahh, the good ol' days :D

No Pro Here but mine said up to 60mph... Well like i said, I have not seen what even looks like that speed :w00t:but mabe after a little tweaking?

There is no way a stocker will even get near 50 mph...
Mine only just cracked 45 mph...and that was a 30.5cc with a Dom pipe and stock gearing...it got there pretty quick though...

60mph will never happen with a stock engine regardless of the pipe choice...

I AGREE AN OPEN PIPE IS A OPEN PIPE IT JUST CHANGES THE SOUND BY THE SHAPE OF THE CHAMBER OR OPEN SPACE IN THE VOID THAT MAKES 'noise'
TAKE AWAY THE BACK PRESSURE ON ANY ENGINE AND YOU HAVE MORE POWER but it will in all the fun self destruct beause of over limits in RPMs

I concur, even if you played around with the gearing, used lighter parts, higher octane fuel, its too much an ask to get an increase from 45mph to 60mph. I dunno about the 2 speed kit though, we need to get Lan to have someone chase his truck, preferably on an abandoned runway :D

I have a bog standard 001 and i rigged it with 2 different gps speedos and both registerd a top speed of 43mph i done ten passes with each one and every pass came out at either 42 or 43mph obviously i know this may not be that accurate but i also run them in my 1:1 car and they both registerd 2 or 3mph out with my actual speedo. Im waiting to get my dom pipe to see what difference it actually makes so will be interesting to see.

is there an upgraded head kit for the factory engine?!?! what exactly is this engine a clone of??!
engines are basicly clones of CY Chung yang engines,
what engine do you have now?
you can do what ever you want upgrade to a port mod job just make sure its CY based 2 bolt engine kits

would it be wise to go ahead and upgrade the case to maybe a 4 bolt-would like to have the zen 4 bolt case with my choice of head upgrade, but can't find just the case on ddm

My intentions all along were to upgrade my KM T1000 with an upgaded head that is why I chose a 4 bolt Zen 28.5 cc and have been running it for about 2 1/2 gallons now. I can tell you that the Zen feels like it has more power all through the curve and is an improvement over the stock 30.5cc. In the next few months It will either be an OBR stroker head kit or an ESP.
