I have a xb modified. I had a run in a 1/8 mile scaled in 3.81 seconds. my math shows 118+ mph. I tested with a radar gun and it shows 43 mph does anyone know the truth. Any help would be great.

lol, 43mph sounds about right. no way youll be getting 118mph in the real world, anything 70mph+ is concidered crazy fast in 1/5th terms, there are some 1/8th scale cars capable of 90mph+ tho

i suppose you could use maths to put that speed into a 1/5th prospective yes

I got a bushnell radar gun from amazon... takes all the math and guesswork out of it... Cost me about 85 bucks I think, but I also like to screw with people by standing on the side of the road and pointing it down the street... people think the cops are out in shorts and a T shirt writing tickets I guess... ha ha ha

I was checking them out. Can that one be mounted to a tripod? I noticed the higher dollar units can.

no, not without duct tape... and you have to be holding the trigger. but the cool thing about it is you can hold down the trigger during the whole pass, and when you let go of the trigger the top speed shows.

That's what I was guessing. Thx.

I guess I'll have to spend a bit more. I can't ask the wife to help, because then I would have to explain where it came from. LOL

desismileys_6308.gifHolding the radar or explaining to the wife? JK LOL

That's not a bad idea, I'm sure they would think its fun.

A piece of PVC pipe bolted to the tripod would work fine. The handle would just slide in. Zip ties make great trigger holders. Well see, I still might splurge.
