Hi Folks,

Just wanted to chime in and see how you guys/gals have been liking the KM 2.0 with the 30.5cc ?

I know Dan on ebay has them coming with what are essentially "outterwears" and a nice 2.4z radio.

Thoughts?

thanks!

Hey Viper!

I Just bought a KM 2.0 with the 30.5cc (white nylon) version from Dan. I absolutely love it. It seems that KM has made alot of improvements. After reading lots of posts and getting advice from everyone here, I made my purchase. I have totally gone thru the entire vehicle and only had one loose servo screw! They even used loc-tite. Dan threw in the outerwears on the deal for free. The pipe is sweet. Overall quality was alot higher than expected. The new Radio is really nice. Comes with a CD as the manual. Very good manuals for both the radio and the buggy. I have only had a few minor issues, all my fault though. Started on the third pull out of the box and I barely had to adjust the carb. Runs like a champ and the torque the thing has is amazing. I would rate my overall experience a 9.5 out of 10. Have run 2 tanks thru with no problems. I am already planning my upgrades. I did purchase and install front and rear alluminum shock supports right from the get. I also purchased a quick charger. The stock trickle charger takes 4 hours to charge after 45 minutes of running. My new charger takes 15-20 minutes. Very happy Buyer. Hope this helps you in your decision.

Yes the newer version is great KM is on this forum alot and have listened to what the first generation buyers complaints and have made great adjustments I bought 2 3 weeks ago only have broken 1 in I did a complete break down of the buggy the shocks were full but it was a lil to thin for my taste so I refilled with 30wt shock oil. The diff was full and had grease on the outside I changed the diff oil to 10K I found all the screws were loctite make sure you check them all anyway. The 2 speed gear mesh was a lil tight but no major biggy after I took the screws out re loc tite and screwed back in the gears mesh was perfect. Fired up on the 3rd pull the pipe is great has super speed off the line and top end when the second gear kicks end boy hold on to your remote. I have rand 8 tanks thorugh it so far with no problem only thing that has broken so far which was my fault was the turn buckel hit the above ground cable box going pretty fast. Oh yes my throttle servo went out on me on my second tank which is no biggie because all rtr servos are no good IMO so I always keep spare servo to change them out when the stock servos go on strike. Great buggy you will not be disappointed I have had a blast with mine!!!!!!!!! I have now started to buy hop ups to change everything orange pullstart handle, wing, fuel line, beadlocks and more.

Sounds like you guys a really satisfied. I'm thinking about going for the all aluminum one, but a part of me says to go for the plastic one in fear of bending expensive aluminum parts.
I really don't plan on taking the thing off ramps though, so..

Yes I prefer to have plastic arms upper and lower I like my aluminum in the turnbuckles, roll cage, shock tower and so forth. I use mine for racing in dirt oval so having plastic in the arms has more give if I am slammed into a wall or another car but just my personal opinion.

Sounds like my best bet would be to get the aliminum model, then just purchase some RPM arms front & back. (among other upgrades, lol)

Alright kids, I spoke with Dan today (ebay) and we worked out a great package deal on the 2.0 w/30.5cc with mostly aluminum parts (not the full aluminum model).

I just want to say that if you're hesitant, definately call Dan. He's an extremely nice, polite and honest seller.

I should have my first baja by the end of next week!!!!!!!!!

Me and a few of the other lads bought the KM 2.0(I think?) Its the alloy version and I must say I have never owned a better baja before this one.
You don't have to through a load of cash at them just to get them "Bash proof" either.
Good luck with your new buy.

My only complaint about mine is that some of the screws into aluminum were tourqed so much that the threads were just about to disintegrate. One was tourqued so hard that it split my allen wrench in half and clean stripped out the bolt with the next attempt with a properly sized wrench. I had to drill it the head and use pliers to get the bolt out of the engine, hoping that I can still get the motor to mount properly, haven't gotten to that point yet.

Parts seem to be of an extremely high quality, just got done dying mine and will be rebuilding it over the next week.

Recieved mine in Jan 2012. KM 2.0 2-speed $<700 from Dan and it has been great. Lots of Alm even came with DDM clone dragon pipe & full alm rear bumper that wasn't even in the post in Ebay. Very Fast.

FYI if a screw is real hard to turn at first try heating the screw up first I use a solder iron you can try a heat gun or blow dryer then once the screw is hot then try turning it should turn easier for you.

yah like speed said, if it was a engine bolt like im reading it, it had red loctite on it, therefore much harder to get loose, and a lil heat on the bolt will soften the loctite and make it waay easier to remove.

Thanks for the heat tip.i noticed that replacment alloy parts are hard to find especially in silver color.does anyone know of a website that sells these parts.i finally found the rear hub carrier i needed but its blue. not my first choice.

there was a site i bought from a few times TGN, i got my hostile hubs from them and a few other parts, also try Tulare hobbies on ebay if Dan off ebay don't have any silver items, i got my TRone piece upper brake assembly off Dan and its silver. try both those guys out and look on TGN too.
