of gas should these trucks go threw before we start to be concerned about the engine starting wear out ? time to rebuild, losing performance, replacing the engine etc. thanks in advance

Kind of hard to say...I think a lot depends on fuel mix/ tune, and mostly how good the air filter / maintenance is.

Also the conditions it's run in, sand dusty, compared to running on grass etc.

I say 8 or 10 hours then a ring change. Now that's a full 8 or 10 hours of run time, you take it how long do you get out of a tank of fuel not long.Whats a $6 ring and $4 gasket once a year or even 2 or 3 times. It's cheaper then head kits once the ring digs in the bore wall.

If you know any dirt bike racers ask them how long before a ring, piston and head change. The old 2 stroke cr250 is just a bigger engine but still takes the beating as the small engine in the dirt.
