finished cleaning up the baja last night so I thought I would do some work on the MT. thought I might put the stock clutch spring back in it as the taller gearing and 8k spring was turning the clutch bell blue.

this is what happened, how the hell am I going to get the remains of the bolt out of there?

u reckon late this month we get together for a bash?

Absofookinlutely bud.....I'm getting bash buddy withdrawal symptoms:laugh:

Frank is good to bash with too...don't get me wrong....but I spend a lot of time dodging his baja....

We had a head on biffo the other day....lucky it was at low speed..

LOL i remember my first head on with you actually, bent the bumper nice and even!

but out of all the bashing that is the only one. hows ur track going?

im going to try and get the carrier off and just get another one if I can

That snapped bolt's in the carrier, right?
You need to remove your plug, insert a piston stopper, or string, etc., then remove the CENTRE bolt - don't snap that one, and it will be TIGHT!
Then you remove the carrier - more difficult with one side but might still work. You need to SCREW IN an oversized - length - screw, to force the carrier off, but as it should be both sides, you'll need to assist the other side.

After that, it's the fathing around with the removal of the stub, or just get another carrier - I've a couple of spares as it is ....

In simple terms you need a tap with a left hand thread then as you tap the hole you have drilled in the snapped bolt the right hand thread bolt will start to unscrew.

Great idea, but have you tried to find a left hand tap, let alone a left hand drill bit.

Yep got a LH tap. Easy to get in the UK if you know where to get em from  LH drill bit :lol: good 1 :lol: You get them from the same shop as LH screwdrivers :lol:

Easy solution to this dude,Do you have or can get use of a Dremmel? If so cut a slot into it and back it out with a screwdriver.....I done the same.

Key word is if you know where to get them. Drill bits can be LH, just as taps. I doubt you can get either at your local hardware store.

LH drill bits are old school, usually used on lathes etc but not used much nowadays with the advances of CNC machines.
