A LH drill bit is normally used to remove a broke off screw.

They are called easyout screw extractors here? A drill bit is a drill bit no matter which direction it turns.

well i got the carrier off no worries, used a cable tie on the end with a the broken bolt and a bolt in the other end. took allot of pulling but the carrier came off.

workshop here has easyouts so I used it earlier today and got the remains fo the bolt out. sweet.

now I just need to buy some new bolts.

I've never heard of one? and anyway,whats the point in a LH drill bit????A hole is a hole!

For example: In a lathe where you have got the work piece rotating you can use a LH drill bit in the head opposite so you don't have to change the direction of rotation.
