right might seem lame to most but im a bit unsure bestway to clean the damn thing....currently lookslike a ball of mud trundling along....can i just introduce it to a jet wash...or is there safer ways....id bag the engine and electrics off any ideas chaps ?

I use a mixture of Simple Green, WD40 and denatured alcohol. If I were running in muddy conditions I would probably spray the entire vehicle with WD40 so the mud wont stick as much...

+1 for SoCal, that's what I use, and it works great. The simple green does have water in it, but with adding the denatured alcohol and WD, it will evaporate or displace any of the water from the simple green...great stuff.
If you know for a fact that your bearings are full of grease, as well as any grease grooves on any shafts, you should be okay to spray it. I shy away from that for the obvious reasons. I use a stiff bristled brush to break most of the mud off, then rags soaked with the cleaner above...finish it off with a clean cloth and the cleaner again.
Dust I use a paintbrush dry, and then the cleaner...hope this helps.

cheers guys simple green seems a rareity over here but will see if i can find simillar cheers for the advice

I'm a fan of simple green as well. I usually wait till after I blow dry mine to apply the wd40. Then I blow dry again to get rid of the excess. Then I take a Terry towel and go over it and it looks new again!

I had a bad experience with brake cleaner on some plastics on a 10th scale...make sure to do a small test spot on your plastics before coating the whole kit with it...it may be fine, but on a lot o plastics, it will break down and leach the dye out

Simple Green all the way! Brake cleaner can turn the black plastic parts a milky white color.
