How do i make a basher into a racer??

Hello everyone this is my first 1/5 scale and i love it.. Ok i have always had 1/8 scale nitro and electric so i am not new to rc world. So i brought a used baja 5t it has a Trever Simpson 30.5 billet engine, tuned pipe,, upgraded servos,killer bee fail safe. So here is where i need help the suspension needs help does not seem to be race ready. This truck also does have a two speed tranny and not sure if that will work for racing. If anyone can help with links to parts needed or set up suggestions it will be very helpful. Thanks:) for any help Mark.

Hi Mark, welcome to LSF.

Not sure if the regulations are general or site specific for racing, but will relate to engine size, noise generated, and possibly if the 2-speed is permitted.

In the UserCP section you can enter your location. That way people can clarify what, where, etc.

I know a few guys bashing with that motor and say it's bad ass for sure...

I'm pretty sure in the states there aren't set 1/5th scale rules. I think it's track specific but I could be wrong...
