Has anybody done a 'how to' on this? I am going to refill my FG shocks but not sure how much oil to put in etc. Im a 5th scale shock oil virgin :innocent:

Up to the bottom of the thread.I used to let mine'bleed' for 12 hours overnight. Before you bleed them pump them with no shock cap on for 8-10 times to get shut of the air and leave them(cover them with kitchen roll) Try them when the bleeding time has finished then see if you have 'lock' (too much oil) if so take a measured amount out of each.

i don't build mine any different than smaller shocks. fill em up with oil, move the shaft in and out a few times, let them sit till the air bubbles are gone. i then move the piston to the top of the travel and put the cap on, i find most of the time you will push out the excessive oil as you spin the cap on. once they are tight cycle them a few times and make sure you have 1/4" or less of rebound, if you have more they have too much oil.

At present I have zero rebound  The front shocks are fine its the rears that are weak. Having said that, I put a new rear shock mount on last night cos it was bent and I moved the shocks to the top hole so they are more upright & the work ok now. I will change the oil anyway so I know its good.
