So im New to Large scale owner ship and have a few questions about storing my RC short and long term. So I have a few questions...

How long is too long to leave Fuel in the tank should I empty it after each run or leave it if im going to play with it in the next week?

Should I Cover the air filter, exhaust to protect them as while its in a box or on the shelf?

Shocks should I let the car just sit parked or should I lift it off them?

And what should I check after not running it for awhile if that happens?

Thanks in Advance for any help

Tires off when storing to prevent flat spots. For your filter you should have something like a outerwears pre filter and the filter itself should be kept lightly oiled, grabs dust/sand/dirt. Pre filter should be on 100% of the time not just for storage. Gas.... hopefully someone else can chime in on how long mixed gas or any gas for that matter can sit around. I find myself trashing anything over a month or so old and the stuff that sits in tank for under that month I make sure to shake around so it remixes. If leaving sit for anything more then a month I would say some type of after run oil to keep things from rusting inside motor. Don't forget about the battery. Nicad's loose juice when sitting so you'll want to recharge periodically during long term storage and def worth charging before using too! Don't wanna forget about that 1 hr bash you had 2 months prior and run outta juice. Lipo's I believe keep charge pretty well but they do recommend periodic charging during long term storage to keep cells healthy.

For petrol storage it depends what oil you are mixing with the petrol. Because my engines are race prepared I always use fresh mixture every time I start up.
However my friends who only use their trucks for bashing reuse the petrol for up to 3 weeks.

If you have a storage hook near by use it. Hang it by the rear bumper. It gets the weight off the tires and shocks, so no soft springs or flat spots in tires and foams. Fuel lasts up to a month before it gets stale absorbing water. I try to run my tank near dry, if storing for the winter I throw some Stabil in it. A half dozen drops of marvel mystery oil down the spark plug hole keeps my engine from rusting inside and makes the engine seals happy long term, just turn the starter over a few times to distribute it inside the engine, it burns off nice and clean.....Last, a spray of WD40 on bare metal parts prevents corrosion, and is easy to clean up before your next run, it will really preserve those black oxide bolt heads that like to rust so easily. A little overkill, but your model will last and last this way.

Thanks for quick responses.. I'm using Quicksilver marine Premium Plus 2 cycle oil read somewhere that's what RCMK recommends, I'm running killer rc lipo for the rx battery and know how to store lipos thanks to maxamp instructions for the batteries I use for my mini revo and scte. I'm going to order a otterwears prefilter soon been running it mostly on the street so far to get used to the size. and as of right now its sitting on a box lifted up in the air. might store it in the box it came in cause it rests seems not to be totally rested on the tires...

That pretty thing don't belong in no box! Keep it out for all to see lol..... Def get the pre filters for your air filter, crank case and pull starter. Couple of pebbles or some tall grass can really mess things up. Overheating and/or damage to your flywheel will occur!
