How would i paint this?

Its not the paint job, but the actual paint. I know they make auto body paint that does this, it is very expensive. Obviously you would need alot less in RC scale

How To!

It's pretty easy to paint. If your painting a clear plastic body, you apply several layers of the color change paint first. Don't get frustrated as you'll only see a "milky" color being sprayed. keep holding it up to the light to get a consistent spray pattern. more coats are better than just a few. Now just back it with black and then the sealer. use an acrylic black as this won't "eat' thru the color change paint you deside on using. I use HOK's color change paints (Kameleon kolors) although there are several companies that sell these. SpazStix works well also.
If your painting a hard body, (solid, not transparent) you'll be painting on the outside. First paint it black then apply the color change. Continue to add layers until you get the desired look. A top clear coat needs to be applied and it's hard to see the color change effect until this final step is done.
hope this helps

So how can this be done if you cant apply the clear coat?

what i mean is, the shell will be painted on the inside so how could
you apply the clear coat if its on the inside? coz the last coat will be
black.....

I cant do it on the outside coz it will get wrecked from the bashing

Anyway mate thanks for the info! ;)

when i done my first marder in chameoleon jade [blue to green to purple] i gave the inside 3 or 4 coats of it got a bit worried at first as it went milky but the second the black went on it just went awsome i just used a normal off the shelf black for lexan its a realy nice paint to use and no harder than any others

Caci's given you the 2 options:

1. Clear body. Paint inside. Colour first. Black 2nd. Seal.
2. Fibreglass body. Paint outside. Black FIRST. Colour 2nd. Clear topcoat to seal.

I don't here.
I had a Mustang that flipped green / blue - put lights on it as well! Long gone.
I had a green / gold F360 - experiment and not good for a Fezza (that was on a proper Tamiya chassis).
The effect is great in strong sunlight - not common in UK of course !!:lol:
It changes with angle, so if you've got a 'curvy' body, you can see both (or more if chameleon) colours at once.
I found the 2 colour paint was nice, but multi colour appeared 'grainy', for want of better description.
Check out the SPASTIX sight for videos. There was an importer into UK.
