damn I love that pipe, seen it in action on a few different vehicles and love the sound and performance, ur going to love it! Great choice!

yeah i got the vcr pro pipe which is designed for bigbore motors.... im loving it:D

Hi Troy, I've got a question for you. Including the standard car, how much do you think you've spent in total (tell me in pm if your better half reads this lol)

I've always liked the look of the car but I'd never own one and I've only driven one a few times and I don't like them for what I do which is race. The Baja looks good because a lot of the working parts are visable unlike the elcon, FG, contrast and such but building the car up like you have, would it not have been more cost effective to buy something like one of the others that are already done out of the box?

Cheers bud,

Mike

I reckon it would of been boring buying one already done out of the box......
more exciting building it yourself and having you own design me thinks :)

You still have to build the car, select the electrics, engine, pipe, air filter and clutch. Then take it out and find the best set ups.

"more exciting building it yourself and having you own design me thinks"

I know what you mean but this only applies if you're making the stuff yourself rather than bolting other peoples bits on your car.

A painted body shell (in most cases) is the only original bit of design you'll fit to any kit.

All that you mentioned above is the whole point in having fun when building your own.

"You still have to build the car, select the electrics, engine, pipe, air filter and clutch"

Thats the best bit.... deciding what electrics you want, what engine you want, so many good pipes to pick from, airfilter setup and clutch ect ect

Im not moaning but thats just me but i no where you coming from too ;)

I enjoyed building my old SS Baja as much as running it. For those new to the hobby the SS kit is an ideal way of getting to know your car. Now though I enjoy the stripping down and rebuilding of my V4, fixing things, tinkering with set up etc. I find racing albeit only club racing more interesting than bashing now though, it's the only way to notice real improvements in your car when you time a lap and see if what you changed made the difference.

I have toyed for a while with the idea of building a Baja 5B from scratch with after market parts but the cost is prohibitive and when finished it's not the best car for racing so looking at buying a good quality secondhand 2wd race car and then play about with that over time.

If your talking about a hpi 5b rtr i would say no because with the hpi 5bss you get a tuned pipe, 26s motor, you get to build it ;) and personalise to what you want and if you already have a tx and rx and rx battery it actually works out cheaper for the 5bss and its a better car i think rtr is 200 or so more

Troy

yeah i wish evry baja looked like yours out of the box

Troy when you going to run it??

a soon as i done with my house renovations im in the middle of tileing my kitchen when thats done il be getting out the 5b and thrashing the balls off it  i will get some video footage and post it up so you can all see....
