hi guys is the hpi chassis generally good for
general bashing ie strong
I would like to strip it and respray it,
is all the work worth it to keep it,
I never hear much about knackered chassis !!

i would buy the rovan lightwieght upgrade chassis (btw it comes in all colors like red) but if you want to keep yours, don't paint it bacuase it will chip/scrape real easy so you could put one of these chassis skins https://www.ebay.com/itm/HPI-BAJA-5...te-Protector-Sticker-Bomb-11247-/272423227604 they have multiple designs too. also imo the stock hpi chassisis pretty good.

the ebay 1 is a laminate so super durable,
the others ive looked at just sticker decals
hence the price
and eBay 1 are pre drilled holes that make
a huge difference
if it weren't for shipping cost I would have
ordered 10 mins ago

making my own dunno, I do like diying it
would that be putting decals on then clear coating ?

don't think dying will work, spray to own colour liking
the a clear coat lacquer spray
if you talking dying a chassis that wont work unless you powder coat or anodize which is really expensive. if you want to paint it go for it but i don't think it will work. Some skateboard skins are laminate like the rc ones. you could buy a electric power coat gun and powder coat it, you would need to bake it tho and don't use you oven lol you could bake it in a cheap toaster oven or box with a heat gun (box with heat gun is super ghetto but some poeple have done it) whats the color you have in mind?

red, know those points,i would strip back to bare
metal ,spray with primer, then colour, the clear coat
laminate primer, I think that would work !!!!
mmmm actually that could work, its worth a shot! make sure the paint is for alu, if you do decide to do itt, post pic of end product if you can! and let me know how durable it is cuz if its good i wanna do it lol
