Sorry if this its posted somewhere else or should be posted some where better but this its my first post and I could not find the answer anywhere else. Ok so I've got the new spring installed and engine back in the MT (and a shiny new ddm pipe) only to find out the clutch barely engages at full throttle.I know I probably over tightened one of the screws, but its the clutch so I didn't want to under tighten any thing...since I knew the stock shoes weren't adjustable I figured I would be fine.now I don't know what to do because if I loosen it too much I'm screwed, but if I leave I the way it is I've got nothing.a any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure that the clutch is not engaging? Check the gears and make sure that the pin that holds the gear is not broken or loose. This has happen to me before and I thought that it was the clutch shoes had worn out but it ended up being the gears had come loose. and the pin had broken so the clutch bell was spinning real fast but the truck was moving very slow because it was not spinning the gears at full speed. I really hope this helps!!!!!!!!

I figured that would be the most likely cause, but how? one of the shoes had a spring washer on it and i thought that was weird that the other one didn't. spent most of the day trying to find another around town, no luck. ended up putting everything back on just like before. If I just deep six the spring?(i didnt because it looked like it kept the clutch from wobbling) will it work fine? or should set it to a specific torque?

@rcgasser I have recently checked the gers and replaced a bad oring, no prblems. the clutch bell is not moving. at full throttle the bell spins very slowly, just like the wheels. thnx 4 the suggestion though!

No it does not have to be to a specific torque just hand tighten pretty good I guess you mean the wobbliness washer when you say spring yes there should be 2 of them you need booth there should only be 1 spring that would be the springs that holds the 2 shoes together. So you did look behind your diff cover to make sure that all of your gears are tight?

@rcgasser sorry ir seemes i was a bit too vague. I was talking about the wavy washer made of spring steel that goes in between the bolt head and the clutch shoe, then there are two normal wahers between the shoes and the engine mount. I thought it was weird that there was only one of these wavy washers on one of the two bolts, and when I reassembled the clutch I most likely tightened it to much. What I am wondering is if the clutch will work if i get rid of this washer. I fear the whole clutch would wobble if i did this (like a tire on a bent axle) and significantly lower clutch and clutchbell life, Or if I loosen that bolt enough to get it to work, but then i run the risk of having it too loose and just fly apart:eek:

Yes I understand what you are saying I would not do any one of these I would get another wavy washer and install the clutch shoe right!!!!!

If only I could find one, no one in my city has these in stock, or even seen them before, do you guys know a place i could find just these washers without having to buy a whole clutch kit? thanks
