Quite the opposite the electric baja's i have seen have been wicked fast, in my oppinion too fast the front end never stays on the ground! I got a mate who races 1/10th electric cars for the schumacher team and no way would anny gasser ever keep up with those things! don't get me wrong i would rather a gasser anyday over electric but they are wicked!

i meant hpi was kinda slow on coming out with electric baja

I think he was saying HPI was slow to bring it out. Not that the cars themselves are slow.

Performance-wise the Brushless Bajas will walk all over us. But they simply can't compete with run-times. We can swap out a receiver pack and fill the tank in about 5 mins, and we're good to run for another hour at a total price of about $25 (extra pack and fuel). A brushless Baja will need an extra $200 in batteries to do the same thing and will still only last 1/3 the time.

IMO, Brushless is better suited in 4wd's because of the big power. The Losi could really use it.

i reckon after their sneak peak and the overall negative reaction on the forums to a 5whatever 4wd flux thing, hpi have back shelved it....somehow i don't think they grasped the idea that 1/5th scale has always been 99% gas...those 1% that want batt power convert...i don't believe there is a significant market for elec 1/5th scale

If there wasn't a market for it, there wouldn't be brushless conversions offered by multiple companies, and there wouldn't be videos all over youtube of damn fast brushless bajas.

There's a market for it, absolutely. Most of us here may not be that market, but it's out there.
