Hey krypt,I used the 40wt the set of shocks came with (it's only enough oil to do 2-1/2 shocks though). And the LHS had 30wt HPI oil so I have that up front. Ya know, I didn't check if they were shorter or not. The HPI shocks were the same length as the rear Ramp shocks. And the rear Ramp casings with hpi inserts made them the same or very close to the stock front Ramps shocks. I can check if you want. They do fit well though except the rear bottom caps touch the lower arms. So to free this up a little I used a sanding drum bit for the trusty dremmel. Sanded down the area where the cap touched to give the cap more room to set. I am not sure if I even needed to do this because it didn't look like it would effect performance. It's just the cap was riding up on the mounting eye (see pic). Since I have an extra set of arms I just did this to test it out. If the arm breaks because of the tiny bit of sanding, then I will just live with the cap touching on the replacement arms. Unless someone out there has an idea, I am always open to new ideas.LMK if you need any picskryptonite said:HOW MUCH SHORTER ARE THEY? and what wait oil did you use.. hpi oils or silocone
