I just got a brand new hs 985 mg n today n hooked it up n works backwards from my factory one. I plug the factory one back n works perfect n plus when it loses signal it goes to full throttle instead of braking. Am I doin somethin wrong or is this normal???????

Turn the servo around or theirs a switch thats on the remote to switch directions the servo arm turns as far as it brakeing it shouldnt unless you have a failsafe??? Is that what Your talking about??

I reversed the remote but it still goes to full throttle instead of braking if it I turn the remote off. I tried resetting the failsafe n it does same thing.

Did you reset the failsafe after you reversed the transmitter? Because it seems like if you reset the failsafe with the transmitter in the normal position and then reverse the servo afterwards, it would cause issues. If that makes any sense. Basically, reset the failsafe with the throttle channel reversed and see if that helps. If that fails, buy a killswitch and eliminate the failsafe completely.

I did that n I even took the fail safe off n it still goes to wide open throttle if it loses radio contact.

Is this a built in failsafe or one that hooks up to the receiver? I'd rebind the TX/RX with the trims centered and align the throttle linkage again, just to make sure everything is where it's supposed to be, then troubleshoot from there.

if you are using the redcat radio hook it up with new servo if it turns in reverse check to see if the switch is in norm or rev. switch it to were the servo works like you want it then do a rebind on the radio and receiver i know on my spektrum you have to do just that or the built in fail safe will go full throttle :D
