Hiya people,took the Beetle(not monster) and my MT out again and stripped the thread on the bottom front wishbone( where it connects to the hub).So i took the right one off and exchanged it for the left so that the stripped thread was on the top.It went great but after tank the thread started to strip again! I went onto Ebay to source a couple of ally one but I thought the price was a little too steep.So,does anyone know of a fix for the problem or is there any decent suppliers from where I can get a pair?
(Is there a wanted thread on this forum)

try jb weld. mix it up, stuff it in the hole and thead your turn buckle in. it has to sit over nite. and you may have a tuff time getting you t-buckle out. my sugjestion is just order some plastic one from a shop. they only cost about 7 bucks or so and you should have them in a few days.
 
Cheers Krypt, I think it might be best to order new ones,can't skimp and save when I've payed this much out on the thing.

hi, on my basher,i took the bearings out and got a 5mm bolt, cut the head off and pushed it in till you can see it where the drive shaft goes, then get a 2 or 3 mm drill bit and drill a hole just behind the bearing seat and through the bolt, then you can put a roll pin or the smooth end of a drill bit to hold the now threaded stud sticking out of the hub, if you make the roll pin the lengh of the plastic where the bearings seat,the bearings will hold it in place,
 
the first you should do isto but new hubs. be shure tio get them from the monster truck. those have a steel ring in the senter making them stronger.
the use 35mm long screws to secure the suspeinstion amr to the hub.
the original bolts ar only 30mm and does not reach down to the metal ring int he senter of the hub.
before you screw them to gether place a washer between the hub and the ball link. make shure the washer have a bigger outside diameter than the steel ball.
use treadlock on the screws.

the absolut best and permanenet fix is to mount aluminium hubs both front and rear. they have a steep price but is well worth the money. Plastic bubs are not cheap they either.

I took the hubs off and reversed them so the left was on the right and the right on the left,so the stripped bottom thread on the left was on the top right and inserted a small plastic rod to tighten the hole up. It seems to work ok at the moment and I have put a bid in on Fleebay for a set of ally one's.
