I already need a steering servo. What to get?

Decided to run in the cold and snow....bad idea...soon after shattering my body, one of my steering servos went out....should I get another stocker or upgrade to something else? Also should I consider converting to a single steering servo and how would I do that? Thanks for any comments, input, or suggestions.
 
Thanx for the info guys, I'm definitely going to do the single servo conversion, just gonna try to wait a few weeks because I've been spending a little to much on this rc addiction lately...
 
What's the exact difference over single and dual?? And can i do dual conversion on a rAmpage xt? Is it like turbos in a car? Single is less torque. Dual has instant torque.

im a duel servo person myself, but i do run just one server somtimes for the longer run times

Not necessary. The XT is pretty lightweight. Just upgrade to a higher torque servo.

Dual servo setups are a pain to deal with. The trims and linkages have to be set perfectly, or the servos will fight each other until one of them dies. And even when the setup has been perfectly tuned, they'll still fight each other. Because no two servos are exactly alike. They could be the same brand, model, etc. They'll still be slightly different.

Also, I don't know about you, but buying and maintaining one $80 servo is a lot more appealing than buying and maintaining two $90 servos.
 
My biggest thought on it is that I'm a basher. That's all I do, and when you have two of something one is more likely to fail. That's the sole reason I'm convertng to a single servo. Plus I'm also mounting desparado wheels with bow tie tires so with the smaller wheels and tires I don't think dual servos will be necessary
 
If I buy the thingy to convert to a single servo will my stock servo that I have left work with that? I figure I will just run it with it until it shits out on me if it will work.
 
I've never tried it, but it'll probably work. If you're just gonna wait till the servos die, you may as well run both. I'm not sure if one stock servo would be able to handle the load.
 
Just try it first. You just need to remove one servo link. The other single steering is the same just minus the extra bell crank and servo saver. The dual set up is linked together the same as the single.
 
Well I actually ran it like that for a little bit...I was just hoping that it may work better once I release the extra friction of an extra bell crank and servo saver, because it honestly wasn't super impressive running on just one servo.
