I tried it, stuck with it, but could not stick with it. Large scale is cool and seems very fun. But my place is racing at the track with my friends. I have not been at the local track in 3 months and I decided to go back. The funds are just not there to support the big toy. I have places to run it but no one to run it with, drivng by your self is just know fun. It seemed I was ordering a a part every week, paying for shipping everytime. I took the big r/c to the track and caught the attention of a lot of people but no one to drive with. I just feel that the smaller electric is my calling. There are a lot of great people on this site.

Frumpy's right. You'll be back! I think we all have felt and probably said the same thing.

I almost sold mine 2 years ago, because I had nobody else to run with.

Toss the car in the garage and let it sit, because you know if you sell it you won't get hardly anything for it, you'll get the itch to run it again!

Best of luck to you.

I Agree. I few years back I sold ALL my stuff when I had my modified Leopard Race. Well over 4K into it for sure. It was so I could pick up a 95 AM General HUMMER. That was the deal with the wife, sell the small toys to get the big one. After getting it I still felt the urge of RC. Ended up getting a Lauterbacher Supercross, then a HPI Baja. Sold those so I could get an Elcon Cleon last year and just picked up a FG Baja 4WD this year.

Now my HUMMER is sold, and still have our H3 which I now drive.

In the end I'm very happy with what I have but could have saved $$$ by keeping what I had with RC's and 1:1 rides.

Its ether a large r/c or a small don't have the time or funds for both. I also have a another kid on the way, I want to purchase a home, so I can't see this sticking around. I can say that I had truely fun with it one time but the rest of the time something broke or I hoped something did not break. I have spent more time waiting for parts then I have driving it. I know being in a thread like this everyone says they are going to keep it. But I'd went to nitro a few times but electric always finds its way back.

Let the family and finances come first. Down the road when you can do this scale again it will be more advanced anyway.

Good luck!!

I do rc for social time. I quit flying helis because I got tired of flying alone. I miss helis but it's been a few years now. I went to the track picnic yesterday and never fired an rc!!. I wrenched on my table but mostly walked around and visited. If it wasn't for good friends, I wouldn't be doing rc

You will be missed but, you will do it again. Different model different set of circumstances. Its in your blood now.

Can't wait for your return.:(

My first child is getting closer to being able to start driving an r/c, I was going to get him a stamped or something like that. My other hobby that I have not been able to enjoy is model railroading my kids eyes light up everytime the train goes around, and brings the family together to.

I want my son to enjoy r/c but my gas car makes him cry and he is very scared oif it. :(

Mine started out with his very own Stampede. He got real turned off with the charging of the battery. Make sure to buy real good batteries..

Same here, my son hates having to take the body off to change the battery.

Meli's son love the Large scale, but the lunchbox scares the poop out of him??? Go figure.

See ya later Road Rash...

Hey mucker don't do it just listen to the guys we all know what you are thinking take the lads advices just put it out of sight for get about it.
I did the same about a year and a half ago just couldn't take it paying all the money out on these cars but then i found the 4wd car for a good price and devil you know came back and bit me right on my arse Ive still got the bite marks to show

I don't want to give it way, if I can't sell it for what I want, I'll just pack it away for a while and see what happens. I think I have the stuff pretty cheap but think I might sell all together, so I don't sell one thing and am stuck with the rest.

I think I might pack it away for a few weeks, and save up for some hopups and try it over again, becasue I have it priced low and its not moving, I'd seen one of these go one ebay for $200 dollars had a few issues but was only ran a few min.

I agree with the others in the forum. don't sell. My first one was an HPI baja and I was the only one around with one. I used it about 5 times before it sat for about 6 months and then someone else got an FG. It came back out and we played and someone within about 2 months, everyone I run with had some kind of gasser. I myself ended up with 4 gassers and went from 15, yes 15 nitros to 2 now. Have a few electrics as well but love the gassers.

I guess the best thing to do it to convince your running buddies how nice it is and try to make them get one or two or three.

Mate, pack it away and leave it for the time being,I have just put some pictures up of the one my girl bought me for my 42nd birthday. It was a steal ! £146.00 and that was with everything to run even the oil.
I bought another Marder about 4-5 years ago,ran it twice, stripped the spur and it went on a shelf in the workshop so I went out the next month and bought an MT.....done the same after two tanks .That went on a shelf also and there they stayed for about 3 3/4 years untouched and left for dead. Then I joined this forum,I was on RC Car universe for about 6 years but this one seemed more personal and after a few posts I got back into the 1/5th scale again and have never had so much fun!All my electric are now on the shelves and my crawler which has had approximitly 1 minutes run is there too! along with the heli,planes,tanks..etc,etc.You get the picture, you'll be back just don't sell it as the markets crap at the mo.
My daughters are terrified if I start them ,i have to start them in my workshop (not too good when the doors and windows are shut:no:)
Drain the tank, remove the battery and store it dry. A few months down the line and you'll have it going again.
Good luck in any venture you take and congradulations on the 'liddle'un'.
J.

well... things have changed again, is was back up for sale, some items sold. I got my little buggy and really want to run in "big races again" so I am going to stick with one size. If I do cimeback to large I will probley get a boat instead.
