I know. I have learned recently how to open a car door lock with a tennis ball and now this. I have been doing security type work for many years (just part time now) and have seen some things but this is crazy. I chased a guy when doing alarm response downtown for weeks. he had a tool to reach in the mailbox and could twist deadbolts and open them. so cocky he went into a book store, stole a book, hit the corner store next door for a milk, choco bar and chips so he had something to munch while reading! finally saw on a video system what he was using and advised our clients to change to key inside and outside type locks...
this says bikes, but man padlocks are on everything. the only type of lock that is safe from this is the round type with a high edge around the shackle. I had to post it to warn others to use a different type of lock, a shrouded lock or hidden shackle type is about the only thing that is safe to protect your belongings
