It has been over a year since the last time I got it out and fired it up, but after I fixed the layshaft, https://www.largescaleforums.com/showthread.php?t=11140
I had to play a little bit.

Here is a very old start, cold start. It was 18 degrees Fahrenheit in my garage this morning.

I couldn't believe how well it started up.

I am uploading a vid of me running it, I forgot how much snappier and faster this is compared to the buggy. Give it me a few mins to get it up, it has taken over an hour to upload and it's only 3/4 done...

Here is vid of it running in the snow...

I sure love the sound of this pipe compared to the seX-can on the buggy...

Trip, do what I did with my FG MT wheels/tyres and get Kold Kutters from DDM. 15% discount as well !!

After revving, it seems to stop quickly. Were you applying the brakes or do you have the layshaft brake to bind slightly in the rest position?

I was hitting the brake.

I had a bunch of self-tapping screws in my savage tires and it worked pretty well. I don't want to do that to my Fg because I love to spin around in the yard, if I added those to the FG my lawn would be destroyed even worse than it is now!

Good idea, but just not for me.

If anyone ever has a choppy video in the forums, like the vid I posted above, if it seems choppy or a bit like a flip book. Just hover your mouse over the top of video and the title of the vid will appear, just click it and it will open a new tab and take you to youtube. It won't flicker on their site. I don't know why YT vids do that, but at least there is a way around it.

novice computer nerd question now - so you must've already uploaded ya vid to youtube, but how do you manage to show it on this forum? took me ages to figure out how to put pix on lol... ta mate

great stuff trip, running in the snow looks like great fun, never done it myself, did you do anything to servo or radio tray before running in snow?

man i thought the snow looked slippery until you took it on the road!

Load up the vid to youtube.
Watch your vid on youtube, while watching your vid,
Save it as a bookmark.
Brag about your ride on here.
After bragging about your ride, open your bookmarks and find the bookmark that has the vid you want to put in the thread.
Then click and drag it onto the the box where you were typing (dialog box). That's it. Same as posting up a link.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Thanks guys!

The yard is pretty decent for traction compared to the road. The road was like ice. Although, I guess you may not know what that is like... Hmmm, OK I got it, take 2 dinner plates and cover them slightly with water and freeze into ice, now take off your shoes and socks and try to walk on them... That's Michigan!

As far a preparations for the servo's I didn't do anything other than spray down all the electronics with "Camp Dry". It is a silicone spray made to be spayed onto clothes and shoes to keep them dry. It's pretty cool stuff, it goes on like wd-40 but it isn't greasy at all. It dries invisible in a few minutes and you don't even know it's on there. I have sprayed it on my hands, waited for it to dry and then stuck my hands into a swimming pool and pulled them out dry! You can spray it on clothes and spray water from the hose and the water just runs off and it's completely dry! Cool stuff. It's about 5-6 bucks a can and covers 2 cars for a couple seasons.

Nope, not at all. After it dries, you wouldn't know it was there until it gets wet... Then you see the water beading then it just runs off. They put it on things like tents and Carhardt jackets from the factory.

If you can find it I recommend grabbing a can, you'll find all kinds of uses for it...

Hey, send me a picture of a wild kangaroo...

LOL don't have one mate, when i go trail bike riding on my uncles prop ill get some for you, heaps there, they hop along next to you while doing 80 km/h + LOL

ill have to get my hands on some

Hell ya, send me a pic! They are one of my favorite animals, those and the wallabies, the mini-me of the 'roos..

I only get to see them in zoo's around here and I feel so bad for them! But at least it isn't nearly as hot here. Although, I bet they freeze the little butts off in the snow!

That's too far to drive for a photograph!

When I go to my Grandparents house they have black bears that come up to the house and push in the front door, it's pretty cool. They're not as big as the big grizzly bears of Alaska, but I still wouldn't want to mud wrestle with one!
