I personally run 30k in my diff, 1k doesn't give you any posi action but allows you the most forward bite in the corners(steering) because both tires aren't driving. 30k seems to be a good balance without losing traction on takeoff because the initial drive is on both wheels. The higher rated fluids 30k, 60k etc are for low traction areas such as dirt and sand. Mine gets run strictly in the dirt![]()
The tracking number site says that its still at the sorting stage dude, i've been told to count two weeks from when it says 'delivery'. So, i have nooo idea![]()
You know what dude, that sounds perfectly in line with what i usually do: different equipment for different situations. I don't fancy tangling with the diff everytime i need to change things up, multiple diffs with different setups would work a treat.from the sound of it, if when you can get the split diff alloy case, it will allow fast diff pulls for either swapping out diffs or servicing the one in there, im thinkin from what you say ur style is, you might pick up a extra diff, set one up with 1k oil and maybe the 2nd one with the 5k or 10 oil. this way you can swap bewtween diffs, and not have to break it down to refill it, constant fiddling with crackin the diff's case apart ur takin chances on pinching the square diff rubber gasket, and then your day is done. if you have a couple diffs already setup, and you can get ya the alloy split diff tranny case, you only need to take a few things off instead of almost the whole rear end to work on diff.
this is the tranny case i refer too,

once installed you wont have to do nearly as extension teardowns to get the diff out, in the pic if you look u see the rear end part bolts onto the tranny case, you take those bolts out, and you pull the diff right out. i think you only need to remove the rear bumper and mount, maybe one or 2 other things and you have access.
i think this will be a must for you in time when you can afford to get the case in link above, Dan also has diffs for 60 bucks too already built, only thing to do is check the diff fluid lvl on it, or drain it, and put the heavier weight oil in for a test run. once ya get the right oil weights you can swap out between diffs in just a few mins on site. and blow the comp away.
i have one in orange color on mine
Hmmm... That makes sense. But running with a nearly locked diff all the time is a rather scary thought. I have to think on that, but thanks for the info dude. I might need to do what Lan says and get me the split alloy diff case and multiple diffs. About 5 diffs should do the trick...I personally run 30k in my diff, 1k doesn't give you any posi action but allows you the most forward bite in the corners(steering) because both tires aren't driving. 30k seems to be a good balance without losing traction on takeoff because the initial drive is on both wheels. Aye, that be true too. I can't really ask too much of USPS; it IS a journey of thousands of miles. I mean, a flight route from Brunei to New York, plus the transits and all, takes about 27 hours.cant really go on that so much, i been thru same thing, was actually delivered and track said still at a far off station point. if it gets to be like 3 to 4 days past arrival time, then contact the seller and let them know they can run a trace on it, to find out where it went, or is.
Dan has diffs for 59 bucks on ebay but i bet if ya asked for a grouping price off ebay for say 3 or 4 at once, he might cut ya a price break. then ya can do as i said with some different oil weights in each diff. once you get ya a alloy split case like in the link i posted, youll see a diff swapout is like 15 mins or so to do. you only have to remove boots from the diff ends so only those 2 boots to deal with gettin back in place again
you see i'm not the only one with it OCD:lol:Hmmm... That makes sense. But running with a nearly locked diff all the time is a rather scary thought. Yes, borderline OCD when it comes to RCing
Btw dude, love your videos, wish i had access to a track like that. But i've already done some snooping around, found a couple of potentially epic running areas...![]()
*evil cackle*sounds like a plan bro
OCD is good for you i feel :lol:you see i'm not the only one with it OCD:lol:
