i recently crashed my KM buggy and broke my chassis.... wondering if a shorter chassis would be a good upgrade for my buggy .... and if so i just buy a 5 t or 5sc chassis ? and i'd need new linkages for throttle ? either that or im going to just get a chassis and take some thin colored plastic and fill in the open slots, like the integy stage 2 chassis... so need some advice :)

5T,5B and Sc are the same chassis bud.You can fill the triangles in with plastic and if you do a bit of research you will find a load of after market companies that do chassis but they are all pretty much the same.
If you go down the "shorty" road you will have to mod a few parts to fir and won't be able to get the shell to fit properly but it will be more agile with the shorter wheel base.

The KM, Hpi, Rovan chassis are all the same in size whether it be a T/SC or B version..other suppliers are Innovative and Scorpion...most of us use thin flexible stripes of plastic to run along the inside of the chassis...

The Shortie will need the Tank making smaller or Radio box, chop the roll cage back slightly, there are kits out there to convert but not too cheap, as said it would be more agile but for me the bigger the better..

No need to modify anything except the body which is easy to do, the shorty chassis from scorpion come with everything you'll need

or there is another option for me ... ill just head over my my buddies machine shop and build a still chassis... drill press all the holes bend all the bends on the break and leave the sides fully solid so no more sand all over every thing ... ahahaha sitting here at work just gave me that idea looking at some sheet steel back in the shop

outta luck send me a link for the frame i wanna check out prices and see if its worth me building one or just buying one , i also was thinking about making a steel top plate aswell, i want something nice and storng my buggy is full of aluminum but somethings just need to be steel, almuminum is a pain in the balls clipped somethign with my one rear tire and its now bend so $90 rear arms are another thing i need to order.

The plastic rpm arms is a good upgrade aswell

your better off with the plastic arms, they flex rather than bend and much cheaper to replace

yes, go plastic on a arms dude, you have to leave a breaking point that is easy and cheap to replace, having a solid alloy setup can get lots more damage done to it rather than have a a arm that will snap and be replaceable easily, and no bent alloy parts.
